For The Record, Surge Is Working, But Will Truth See Light Of Day?

"God looks after children, drunkards and the United States of America."Otto von Bismarck

It's now quite clear how the results of the surge will be dealt with by domestic opponents of the Iraq War: They're going to be ignored.

They're being ignored now. Virtually no media source or Democratic politician is willing to admit that the situation on the ground has changed dramatically over the past three months. Coalition efforts have undergone a remarkable reversal of fortune, a near-textbook example as to how an effective strategy can overcome what appear to be overwhelming drawbacks.

Anbar is close to being secured, thanks to the long-ridiculed strategy of recruiting local sheiks. A capsule history of war coverage could be put together from stories on this topic alone — beginning with sneers, moving on to "evidence" that it would never work, to the puzzled pieces of the past few months admitting that something was happening, and finally the recent stories expressing concern that the central government might be "offended" by the attention being paid former Sunni rebels. (Try to find another story in the legacy media worrying about the feelings of the Iraqi government.)

What you will not find is any mention of the easily-grasped fact that Anbar acts as a blueprint for the rest of the country. If the process works there, it will work elsewhere. If it works in other areas, that means the destruction of the Jihadis in detail.

If the surge is working, the Bush administration and all its surrogates should be yelling it from the rooftops, coast to coast and demanding airtime on every news show running 24-7! After all, the Presidency is the Bully Pulpit.

Problem. We know the Bush administration has the worst public relations setup of all time. We know the President is a poor communicator, especially on the battle for Iraq. And we know the leftwing is vicious in its opposition, hating Bush&Company every step of the way.

So, what is the plan Dubya?

Minor editing needed to this great news. We are WINNING the war in Iraq, and the only quagmires are in Pelosi's House and Reid's Senate.

Demoncrats are invested in American defeat. What’s their country’s best interest when compared to their political advantage?

Not as long as the main stream media can prevent it.

The Presidency does not have Bully Pulpit when it comes to public relation because they have no control of the most of the media. Our side of the media in particular the talk show radio should spend 90% of their time talking about our victory in Iraq instead of attacking the President and the Republican Party.

Weren’t you on here yesterday for President Bush claiming victory right before the bombing that killed 25, so you ripped him for that?? Oh yeah, that was another Monday Morning QB.

Maybe he’s not the type to take all the credit like his predicessor. Guess it’s easier to rip him than Stand Behind Him w/o a Dagger.

As we have discussed before we are getting closer and closer to total victory in each passing day. Eventually sometimes early next year the majority of people will realize that America won the war and that the terrorists were utterly defeated.

Sometimes its better to ignore than take the bait and respond. You know where it leads to these days on here.

Do any of the Iraqi newspapers show the changing tide?? It looks like we are seeing a major seachange in the safety of Baghdad.

Exactly and for the record a VICTORY cannot be denied or hidden no matter how much liberals and their media try to ignore. In the next 6 to 8 months it will be known to the majority of people that we won the war.

You know, amigo, we have discussed this many times, actually. But you know what you and I are going to get a kick out of? You won’t be able to find a doubter then. They’ll all say they were there with us all along. This is the way history often happens. “I knew we’d win,” they’ll brag, when even the dimmest Liberal can’t deny it. They lack cojones, Faith, and the will to persevere but they don’t lack the desire to be on the winning side.

That is great news. It is more important that the Iraqi people understand these victories than Americans. They’re the ones that will root out the terrorist cowards in the end.

You bet. Glad to have you interested. I mostly ping the good news stories that our great men and women serving are denied all too often.
