If he had any guts he would have burned it in front of the nearest biggest mosque — after announcing his intentions in advance.

He should probably be on the phone, right now, with Salman Rushdie, asking him about all the really good places to hide.

He’s burning books to eliminate “homophobic hate.”
In other words he’s an idiot. (a genius to a liberal)

No one should hate gays. They should be treated as any other genetically deffective organism.

Charles Merrill, the artist who recently edited the Holy Bible with a black marker and pair of scissors, has lately burned a rare Islamic Holy Book, The Koran, valued at $60,000.00, in an undisclosed Chicago location. Kind of a pricey protest when you can get the same Islamofascist reaction by pee-peeing on a $2.98 Koran.
How many Muzis will get killed in Islamabad when the marches start?

Actually - whether he knows it or not - he’s admitting that God’s word condemns the actions of homosexuality - It’s surprising how many people don’t know that...but, thanks to this gay guy’s actions, many more will be alerted.
‘Hope he plans on going into deep hiding - he’s committed a ‘fatwah-able’ offense for sure...
and wasn’t he displaying a bit of hate himself?

"Airplanes are flown into buildings because of words, and hate crimes against gays," Merrill said
There are two ways to interpret this statement. Either the Islamic terrorists flew planes into the WTC towers in defense of homosexuals targeted by gay bashers in this country or they flew the planes to specifically target homosexuals. I maybe going out on a limb but a gut feeling tells me don't think either scenario is likely.

"Airplanes are flown into buildings because of words, and hate crimes against gays," Merrill said. I have news for Mr. Merrill; the Muslims hate a lot more people than just Gays. To be precise they hate everyone who is not a Muslim.
But they do have specific punishments for individual subsets of non-Muslims. And of course the punishments for Gays is not the least unpleasant of those punishments.

oh ya that’ll work.

Watch out - if this story gets picked up around the world (and it probably will once CAIR et al get into the act) this could provoke the kind of insane reaction that will make the “Danish cartoons” matter look like kids in the sandbox. Muzzie mobs have rioted and slaughtered large numbers of infidels over a lot less. While I have no regard for the book in question, I certainly do not see any good reason to try to inflame those parts of the world into riots and mass murder. Is this guy trying to get a fatwa issued to become infamous? He may get a lot of innocent people killed in the process....

LOL! Some “artist”. He didn’t show his “work” in public, and I bet he’s gonna get real nervous if his picture suddenly starts getting lots of hits and turns up on Al Jazeera.

NEW YORK, July 26, 2007 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Charles Merrill, the artist who recently edited the Holy Bible with a black marker and pair of scissors, has lately burned a rare Islamic Holy Book, The Koran, valued at $60,000.00, in an undisclosed Chicago location. "The purpose of editing and burning Abrahamic Holy Books is to eliminate homophobic hate," Merrill stated. "Both ancient books are terrorist manuals." Gotta give this homo credit for being a hell of a lot braver than most.

Wait a minute; He`s gay but then he says:
“I inherited the rare Islamic book from my late wife, Evangeline Johnson Merrill.”
Was Evangeline a man? Or is Charles one of those who suddenly one day decides he is gay?
I must say though, burning a rare Koran is a commendable accomplishment, although he may want to re-read that Bible.

At least he’s an equal opportunity offender. He slashed the Bible, yes, but he did to Koran too. Too many whimpsy liberals only dare to do that to the Bible, but not to Koran.
