NOW: Motion to Recommit to vote for Final Passage of HR 2419.
I thought I was watching British Parliament. There was lots of booing and another source is BNA News re: the farm bill.
This is a battle royale and partisan per BNA News, Derrick Cain.
Taking money from farmers and transferring it to conservation. FV

If this belongs in Chat, feel free to move same but frankly, this farm bill will affect every American. Friends, start watching HR 2419 if you buy groceries or frequent restaurants. (sarcasm tag). FV

Not to worry, I still have 6000 pounds of freeze dried chili left over from Y2K. ;)

Well, they are going to lose unless some dems cross over and it doesn’t look like that ‘s going to happen.
Unbelievably sneaky move putting the taxes in at the last minute.

Ping and I will post more when details forthcoming. They are likely to get loud again after the Motion to Recommit.

I ckd the link and there are numerous assistance programs for people in country and overseas. Assistance for everybody but taxpayers. There are educational programs as well for unspecified persons.

The other bill is the CoAg bill. It has 2 sponsors. It’s another shamnesty attempt.

Sneaky is right re: taxes at last minute. I don’t know if Bush will veto this or not. The yelling is over for now. Whoever had the gavel never asked that the House be in order. That was unique.

I haven’t studied the entire bill but I was astonished at the lack of decorum in the House. I think Americans are taxed to the max. If our grocery bills go up because of all the entitlements in this bill and because farmers are hvg to compete with foreign economies, then I am against it. A quick look at the bill contains lots of international elements and some intl entitlements. That hurts American farmers and their family farms, not yet corporatized.
