Why Caligula Rodham Clinton Just Might Win
Redstate.com ^ | 27 July 2007 | .cnI redruM

It depressed me this morning to read that Rudy Giuliani had chosen to turn down the CNN-You Tube GOP Debate. Assuredly, his experts and spin-doctors told him that the questions would undergo a rigorous editing to card-stack them mendaciously against any GOP front-runner. Assuredly, they are right. Any network that runs “Broken Government; The Right Gone Wrong” seven days in a row before the 2006 Midterm Congressional Election cannot be classified as a disinterested, impartial observer.

All that being stipulated, Rudy, or someone in the GOP primary field, needs to take the skirt off and walk into the political snake-pit. I understand his complaint that Democrats get away with more and that it isn’t fair. John Edwards refused to debate on Fox News because he was afraid the pitches aimed at the batting cage would travel faster than 25 miles per hour and the moderators would pillory him if he attempted to dodge or demagogue.

However, standing in there against the gotcha fastballs is the GOP’s assigned fate. We are the adult party; we answer the questions, rather than pre-selecting them ahead of time in a rigged game. Our role in the constitutional system is to be Dad, not Santa Claus. To run as a GOP candidate, Rudy has to grow up and except that like the 3rd grade kickball game, the teams are never going to be fair. He will have to run against both the Democrats and the media.

I penned a tepid and reluctant endorsement of Rudy Giuliani a couple of months back. Given what I’ve seen from McCain, a sense of utter contempt for the people he was elected to represent and given what I haven’t seen from Romney, a coherent set of policies to execute that wish list of some dude standing on a beach; I stand by that endorsement.

I caveat this by saying Fred Thompson could convince me otherwise. To accomplish this, he needs to articulate a platform and actually run for president. Call me old fashioned, but I’m not going to vote for a guy who won’t even announce and ask for my vote.

Rudy’s decision leaves me feeling rather depressed. We have McCain, who stands for things, but could truly care less what the plebeians think about anything. We have Mitt Romney who was best represented by Flip, the dolphin suit clad mascot. We don’t have Fred Thompson because you can’t win, if you are not running.

In my mind, that left us with Rudy. But for that to be true, Guiliani needs to man-up and show-up. John Edwards’ hair may have looked cute when he turned down the Fox News Debate by orders of Senor Zuniga, but I also don’t see anyone to the right of Piero Sraffa joining PlayStation Johnnie in his crusade against poverty. Rudy Giuliani needs to accept that none of this will be designed to give conservative or even right-center views a fair and honorable hearing.

He needs to engage the media Leftards on their own turf and not duck the CNN-YouTube circus/debate. No matter how much that terrain seems to be a vertical slope agianst conservatism, we cannot yield it to the Democrats and Media. It's the only terrain that's out there. If we give it up without a shot, Caligula Rodham Clinton will enjoy an easy, downhill coast to her inaugeration.

If the GOP wants to keep the White House, they need to man up.

Rudy - debate when and where you have the chance. Your hair does not look metrosexual enough to act like John Edwards and pretend that unfair questions from unfair netwroks will hurt your feelings.

Fred- If you want to actually get nominated, try running.

Nationalized health care is tantamount to genocide.

No, it’s slower, more bureaucratic, less efficient, and hurts much more before they put you down.

I think any GOP candidate is a fool to walk into an ambush by the libs. The whole exercise is to make the Dems look superior. “Man Up” is a stupid attitude toward a serious matter.

The biggest problem I have with Fred, is that he isn’t man enough to declare his intention to run. Unless Hillary fixes the election, she will not win. Too many people can’t stand her.

Haven't you heard? He's the savior of the Republican party even though he's not a candidate!

I think any GOP candidate is a fool to walk into an ambush by the libs.

There is less distinction between the two parties as time passes as the GOP adapts to an increasingly socialist ideology like the Socialist Democrats. Conservative in the GOP could do themselves a big favor by leaving and uniting with the large number of unaffiliated Conservatives.

I think Hillary is the favorite so far in both parties to be president. Shes running a flawless campaign so far..The best political hacks in the business are running her campaign, and the media is fully on her side. She sounds way more polished then the other front running democrats. She has her positions thought out.. unlike Obama who is slipping up.. or Edwards who is turning quite a few off with some of his dumb ideas like stopping nuclear power.

If you guys want to get shaken up with fear this morning before work, go to youtube and look for a video with her answers to questions in that youtube debate. She sounds ‘presidential’. Of course if elected we’ll probably see the real agenda from herself.

There will not be any debate prior to the election that isn’t set up in that sort of a format.

If Queen Hillary and a democrat majority in Congress gets to run the country the American people will all too quickly find out they made a mistake.

First following an orgy of tax increases the US economy will be in recession. If Hillary Care gets enacted Americans will soon find out what Canadians and Brits have known for years...health care rationing and long waits to see any doctor let alone the one you want.

Worse still is that the US military will again be dismantled to pay for social programs, the war on terror will be handed over to the police and FBI and Islamic fascists emboldened by cut and run policies will be exploding IEDs in US cities and worse.

For clarity's sake could you tell me if this is an editing error or is it supposed to be that way...

Except or accept?

Yes, Hillary would do for us, what Carter did for us 30 years ago. Now, who will be our next Ronald?

The one about the intention to run and that Fred is not man enough to declare. I believe it is intentional. The MSM may believe that the public wants a two year Presidential race but the real public will get real tired of Hillary very soon.

Conservative in the GOP could do themselves a big favor by leaving and uniting with the large number of unaffiliated Conservatives.

Conservatives in the GOP should stop listening to "political consultants" who do polls and then advise them to run to the middle. The mushy middle is mushy because they have no fixed values. Give them a choice between an intelligent conservative and a flip-flop liberal and they will choose conservative.

Unfortunately, they usually end up with a mushy conservative versus a mushy liberal. Then the media carry the day for the liberal. Of course liberal voter fraud always helps.

I don't think so. Carter didn't have the unquestioned obedience of the Washington and national press corps. Oh, they preferred him above Reagan or Ford, yes. But he hadn't been a national figure for a decade and a half--Mrs. Clinton HAS been a national figure and has never faced much scrutiny by the media.

Witness how the media completely ignored "The Truth About Hillary: What She Knew, When She Knew It, and How Far She'll Go to Become President" by Ed Klein.

She will get free passes, and every word she says will be reported as the Gospel.

Unlike every word G.W. Bush says--it is reported with disdain and a search for contradictory evidence.

The only solution is to defeat Hillary, Obama, or whoever the socialists nominate in '08. They must be beaten.

I don’t see a real man among them. If Thompson can’t find the guts to throw his hat in the ring and quit playing this stupid game of his, we don’t need him either. You guys may vote for the cross-dresser if you wish, I’m out. Our fight will continue in the sidelines anyway, possibly in the streets.

I’ve been around long enough to smell voter fraud in the making when it’s happening before our very eyes. Queen Hitlery, unless a miracle happens in the form of men with chests rising to the occasion (see above paragraph), she will be coronated. Disgusting, the sheeple’s fawning and groveling at the Clinton’s/Kennedy’s/anti-American’s stinking feet.

The “lesser of two evils” fall-back position still leads to the same destination, only a bit slower. Better to lance the boil, gird ourselves for the fight and wade into the fray instead of hoping against hope. Once the enemy is totally exposed, our minds will clear on what course to take instead of waiting for that other shoe to fall, so much the better. Did we check our brains at the door? I think not.
