ANyone ever see the great TV show that SHOWTIME used to play, from Canada, called “Dead Like Me”.??
Given the title of the article alone, how could one reasonably search to find the duplicates? I personally can’t think of too many combinations (starting from just the title alone) that would lead a search to the duplicates. Can either of you? Show your work.
Besides, what’s really the harm on a site this vast? Instead of only thinking of yourselves, who, I guess, spend 8-10 hours a day on FR to see these duplicate threads personally (i.e, without a search, but witnessed personally), how would someone who never heard this story hear about it? I personally found it interesting (as apparently both of you did or else you wouldn’t have clicked on it) but never would’ve heard about it (or cilly’s wonderful anectdote) if all duplicates would be a stonable offense.
Lighten up, sheesh.
I usually don't respond to trolls (Don't feed the trolls!), but you seem to be sincere in wanting to know how to do a successful search, so here is my method.
Select ONE word from the article HEADLINE. It should be a word that is important to the article, and would even be in the headline if the poster rewrote the headline. That is against the rules, but it happens.
Remember, pick only ONE word from the HEADLINE.
DO NOT use a combination of two or more words.
The word cat is a good search word for this article.
Click on Search at the top of the page. Type in the word cat.
Set the drop-down menu to order by post time. This is VERY important. Click on Search.
The results page will show all "cat" articles in CHRONOLOGICAL order. This is what you need to quickly determine if the same article has been posted recently.
Happy searching!
Oscar the Cat is making a valuable contribution to HOSPICE CARE. Remember............Oscar isn’t “making the deaths happen”........he is just indicating when they are going to die.
