In the past few months, I've traveled the country talking and listening to folks. I've been discussing where I see America going, about what we need to do to keep our nation secure, what we must do to keep this remarkable economy growing, and the challenges we must address together for the next generation of Americans.
I believe the United States is at a crossroads, and what I'm hearing on the road is that a lot of people agree with me. They're ready to move forward together to meet our challenges here at home and abroad. They aren't buying into the defeatist talk about our security, our economy, and our future.
During this "testing the waters" effort we've undertaken, I've been saying the political waters feel pretty warm. It's allowed us to start laying the foundation of a good team across the country and to keep up this national conversation we've been having. Now we're going to take that conversation to a different level.
On Tuesday, August 7th, we're inaugurating a new weekly "I'm With Fred" email, complete with news, updates, and photos from the road. We're also working on the ImWithFred website 2.0, in order to keep in touch on a daily basis and to give you more opportunities to join us at events, help us organize, and spread the word about our efforts.
I'm excited about what I'm seeing out on the road. I appreciate everything you're doing for our effort.
Sincerely,
Fred Thompson
I received it as well. Maybe this is Spencer Abraham’s first act as Campaign Chairman.
WELL THAT JUST PROVES IT. No nappy time for Fred...
I second all you have said. I’m with Fred for the time being simply because I want a conservative in the WH along with a conservative majority Congress. I think Fred is the man to accomplish this.
Spencer was hired as a campaign guy, not because of his inclinations for or against Muslims.
Are you being obtuse or what? He was promoted to that position. When Thompson promotes Abraham to Deputy Staff Chief you can bitch.Just lay down on your own, man. I don't want to have to smack you down again.

Read the document in post #22 by the head of NumbersUSA.. that organization is not what people think it is..
See post# 59.
Unlike others, I am not going to flame you for your feelings on this. I am worried about Fred and his picks.
Right now, I know where Hunter stands, he is a good American citizen, wants to win the WOT, and is a fighter in the immigration issue. That means a lot to me. Thats what I want to hear. Based on current knowledge, and WHO has entered this race, I support Hunter.
I remember Rove, who helped Bush win, saying the elections were starting too early this time. Hmmm? I want no Trojan Horse, I want a guy who cares about US sovereignty and US citizens, the people that have always loved this nation.
Thanks.
Btw, just so everyone knows, Abraham is not a MuslimAnd George W. Bush is not a Mexican.
PFFFFT.
Sounds like he is listening to Newt.
now why in the world are you say NR is just going to make up an award?
The claim is the award was from 97 (from a NR article in 2000) and I haven’t found anything on La Raza’s website that goes back that far.
I read this in the article by debbie s. posted in this thread. Not one thing in that article backed up by citation. I am still not on board with any candidate yet, but I don’t want my decision swayed by unattributed hearsay.
You know, this argument is meaningless before the primaries have even begun.
If it’s the general and it’s John Hillabama vs. Fred...who do you think we’ll vote for?
If it’s the primary, and it comes down to Hunter, Rudy, Fred, Tancredo, Romney, etc; our options are more varied.
Gee, maybe because I see NO CITATION or MENTION of such an award prior to NR's article?
Go ahead, Google "Defender of the Melting Pot" - see how few mentions come up. And all either tied to the NR article or after the NR article.
Also note that La Raza DOES have an award for Congresscritters - by a very different name.
