Shame on you, Sir. Shame on You!

You may have forgotten your oath to defend the Constitution against enemies foreign and domestic. You may have forgotten that oath was never rescinded. You may be old and weary and jaded. But none of that gives you the right to make snide remarks about “grape festivals” and then put up a stink when you are called on it.

Noting gives you the right to make an off the cuff (unintentional I’m sure) insult to the widow of a war hero. If you had actually read what she posted you might not have slapped her in the face.

Nothing gives you the right to cast aspersions on the efforts of those willing to stand up and fight for our beliefs against the domestic enemy. You say it has no effect. Where is your proof? Cite me the articles about Cindy Sheehan’s current parade that don’t mention that the Gathering of Eagles and Free Republic and others were there in defiant and vehement opposition.

Tell me how those articles, when they mention that Cindy retreated from her scheduled appearances, help the enemy?

Do you suppose the domestic enemy gained control of the media message overnight? No, it was done incrementally story by story. Do you suppose you are going to wake up one day and all the media is going to be converted? No, it is going to be a long hard road, one that we are going to have to win one engagement at a time.

But we cannot win if we don’t begin. We have begun and we are winning, but like our troops overseas, our troops here need support and not the constant naysaying and bickering we normally get from the radical left.

You, sir, by your remarks and by your callous disregard for anything but your own feelings are serving the purposes of the enemy within our own ranks.

I haven’t forgotten anything, Bud. I walked away from 1 WTC on September 11th and volunteered to re-enlist on September 12th. The Navy didn’t want 38 year-old ex-ordinance specialists who were 40 pounds overweight, but at least polite about it (lol). I’m voicing my opinion that the way to get rid of these folks is not to give them any attention. It’s specifically what they want.

There is a lesson I learned a long time ago when I used to babysit my infant nephews: when you respond to a child’s cry when it reaches acertain decibel level, the next time the child cries it begins it wail at exactly that pitch. The cycle continues, with the display becoming ever more shrill as the child figures how to get attention and, ultimately, manipulate you.

This is the strategy of the anit-war crowd, and Takoma and Buford have fallen for it, hook, line and sinker.

My other beef is about having my patriotism, my intelligence and my character assasinated by two idiots who imply that because I don;t see the world the same way they do, I must be a moral coward. Their argiument is an old and flawed one; if you aren’t anti-______, then you are objectively pro-______.”

And shame on YOU for falling into their trap of equating someone they happen to disagree with as an enemy. I have no truck with Cindy Sheehan or any of the hemp-wearing morons who follower her around, except that they have a very skewed and mentally-lazy view of the world.

I never insulted a war widow! How DARE you? The idiot comment was directed at Takoma (hell, it was addressed to him — His name appears in the TO line at the top of the post!). She (deb) took it as being directed at her, and it never was. Have people forgotten how to read now?
