A Loss in Iraq is a Victory for Iran (MUST READ)
FoxNews ^ | Lt. Col. Bill Cowan

Posted on 07/26/2007 9:55:35 AM PDT by Ooh-Ah

During his recent televised speech about Iraq, the president hammered home the point once again that a loss in Iraq is a victory for Al Qaeda. Of that, no realist without a political agenda could argue. What he failed to mention with clarity, however, is that a loss in Iraq is also a victory for Iran — a clear victory at that, and one whose ramifications may extend far beyond those of a victorious Al Qaeda.

To be sure, Al Qaeda will have a new “playground” from which to train, prepare, equip and deploy operatives around the globe. They’ll fly in and out of Baghdad much as they flew in and out of Kabul before the events of 9/11. They’ll also take stark comfort in the fact that having pulled out of Iraq with our tail between our legs, there’s barely a chance in the world that we’ll return. Consider Vietnam, Beirut, and Somalia if you disagree.

... It’s about an Iranian victory in Iraq. Iran as empowered and emboldened, quick to fill the void, on the threshold of having nuclear weapons and openly frank in their desire to wipe Israel and the U.S. off the map.

...
Today, according to some qualified sources, nearly 30,000 Iranian agents of influence are operating in Iraq. Some are there within the Shiite population as non-governmental organizations providing humanitarian relief. Others are closely tied to the militias, providing training and logistical support. Others are involved in the smuggling of the roadside bombs which have killed numerous Americans. Others still have been directly involved in murderous operations against Americans.

...
Lebanon’s Hezbollah, considered by many to be a much more virulent terrorist organization than even Al Qaeda, finds its support, strategic vision and often its orders from Iran’s mullahs.

“Some are there within the Shiite population as non-governmental organizations providing humanitarian relief.”

Those NGOs aren’t all Iranian, but they, even the “Americans” involved in them are all anti-West. Consider the Open Society Institute rep who is being held in Iran, perhaps to pressure Soros to increase his anti-American rhetoric and dealings. However, of course Cowan is right and we cannot afford (the world cannot afford) to give Iran a victory.

A Win in Iraq is a Victory for Iran ALSO!

60 Percent of Iraq is Shiite, (Iran is 85%) and they vote in one block. They are led by the Iranian born Ayatola Sistani, and their constitution mandates “NO LAW SHALL CONTRADICT ISLAM”.

Not if we fight this war to win the battle instead to win world politics . The war to win is in Saudi Arabia from what I read . Walking the streets like sitting ducks is not how to win a war . We have technology and weapons that can stop Iran if they invade iraq . We need vote out the whole lot of congress and impeach bush . Or we lose not only the war but our nation .

Our borders are open to all terrorist from every islamic nation on earth .

Lebanon was once a beautiful paradise called the Paris of the ME , since they started letting in muslims they have become a land of wars and intolerance .

This year a border agents radiation pager went off on the Canadian border, they were told to let not to pursue the van with ME men inside , why ?

Why do we protect Islamburg and other muslim compound's here ? Islamburg is filled with mostly black muslims recruited from prisons . It is a paramilitary compound full of weapons , why are felons allowed to be in possession of weapons ? Any other felons would be put in jail . Whats going on in our nation with the foot baths , classrooms , mosques , prison recruiting grounds, and muslims threats in our streets of Detroit, Chicago ?

Why do we allow muslims all these privilege's, yet kill Americans like Ruby Ridge, Waco where the clintons and reno murdered woman and children by gassing and burning them alive . and Freeman .I don’t have any respect for these others, but I also don’t think they were a danger to us like muslim radicals are .

Because our President considers islam a Great Religion of Peace and has Ramadan dinner with moslems every stinking year while our troops are being killed by moslems.

Also thanks for your service to our country .

I am going to a commish meeting next month . I am on the agenda to speak about some of this ,plus some of the things indirectly related to illegals.

I don’t know what to think anymore about anything .I stand behind our troops 100% . If something happened here, most of our able bodied ,brave patriots are overthere . Here with us are a bunch of liberals ,enemies within, baggy britches rap and game loving youth . Most Americans don’t even know how to use a gun , especially our young .
