Two men who spent decades in prison for a 1965 gangland murder they didn't commit waited Thursday for a judge's verdict on their claim that the FBI withheld evidence that could have cleared them.

Peter Limone, Joseph Salvati and the families of the two other men who died in prison had sued the federal government for malicious prosecution.
They argued Boston FBI agents knew mob hitman Joseph "The Animal" Barboza lied when he named them as killers in a 1965 slaying. They said Barboza wanted to protect a fellow FBI informant, Vincent "Jimmy" Flemmi, who was involved.
"It took 30 years to uncover this injustice, and the government's position is, in a word, absurd," said U.S. District Judge Nancy Gertner.
Wow
Whitey Bulger strikes yet again.
L
Paging Johnny Sutton.
Any relation to Stevie 'The Rifleman' Flemmi?
US District Judge Nancy Gertner found that the FBI withheld evidence that the men had been framed, as Peter Limone and Joseph Salvati grew old during their three decades in prison, and Louis Greco and Henry Tameleo died behind bars.
Good. Now if the prosecutors are still alive they need to be thrown in prison, preferably with other people they prosecuted.
The hand work of Robert Kennedy, Hoover and LBJ?
They may not have ben angels, but they deserve this compensation. The Feds knew they had the wrong guys....
Nope. To these FReepers they're guilty and just managed to scam the system.
Isn't it strange how some so-called conservatives think the government is completely inept but when it secures a criminal conviction it can have done no wrong? Intellectual dishonesty at its best.
It is indeed amazing how many people will blithely believe in the accuracy of the word of a jury verdict, a judge, or a government lawyer.
Oliver Cromwell was tried, convicted and hanged after he died! Why not Robert Kennedy, J Edna Hoover and LBJ?
Now it is time for the FBI to tell the truth about Oklahoma City. Jayna Davis has affidavits from 22 witnesses identifying a Middle Easterner in the truck with McVeigh.
The judge should have ordered the FBI agents who violated these men’s civil rights held for trial as well. One of the FBI agents said something of the form: What do you want to do, send me to jail? My answer is: “Yes, and I want your cell mate to be a huge, hulking, muscular homosexual who ‘likes’ you.”
Now this is $100,000,000 of OUR taxpayer money. How this is supposed to work, I guess, is that we get mad at this type of BS and vote in representatives who will see to the reform of the FBI. Too late. I guess we’ll all pay for the sins of the people and the government from 40 years ago. Why not? We’re paying for everything else.

If that's the case, then I say 'eff them . . . Throw every FBI agent and DOJ staffer involved in this case in prison for the rest of their lives, and give Limone and Salvati a nickel each for their troubles.
Yes, his brother.
If we don’t have the moxie to convict them of the other crimes then they deserve to be free and have the money too.
