Sen. Feinstein endorses Hillary Clinton for president

California Sen. Dianne Feinstein endorsed Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday, hailing her potential to become the country's first female chief executive.

"Today women are serving at every level of government," said Feinstein, who became San Francisco's first female mayor in 1978. "One great barrier remains and Hillary Clinton is the woman to shatter that barrier."

"This is somebody who has been hard-tempered by the executive branch, she knows what it is, she knows what resources she has, she doesn't need on-the-job-training," Feinstein added on a conference call with reporters.

Clinton thanked Feinstein, calling her "a friend, an adviser and a mentor."

Feinstein, California's senior senator, is a centrist Democrat who is one of the state's most powerful and popular politicians. Her backing adds to growing support for Clinton in California with its bonanza of campaign cash and Democratic voters. The state recently moved its primary up to Feb. 5.

Clinton already has the support of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez and others.

A Los Angeles radio reporter asked Clinton whether she was concerned about the recent scandal following Villaraigosa's divorce and admission of a relationship with a Spanish-language television reporter, and whether she'd spoken with Villaraigosa.

Feinstein interjected angrily.

"I'm surprised at you for that question. My goodness, Hillary is running for president of the United States, she doesn't need to get into this," Feinstein snapped.

"I echo my friend Dianne's comments, but let me say that I have spoken with the mayor," Clinton said.

"I also am well aware that he is the mayor of our second-largest city, and I think that his work on behalf of many of the issues that I care about is very significant so I will continue to welcome his support."

California's other senator, liberal Democrat Barbara Boxer, does not plan to make an endorsement in the presidential primary because she is close to all of her Senate colleagues who are running, her political consultant Rose Kapolczynski said Wednesday.

Ahh - so we should vote for her because she’s a woman. Feinstein has built a career on gender lobbying.

Feinstein did more to spread the AIDS virus around the nation than any single person I can think of excepting patient ‘zero’.

All she had to do was close the bath houses, and she refused for months on end.

Feinstein, California's senior senator, is a centrist Democrat

Their party has moved so far to the left that I guess anyone who doesn't advocate late-term abortions on 3 year-olds or naming a college after Bin Laden is deemed a "centrist."

For a brief moment, Feinstein was actually decent when she pushed for the pardon of the two border patrol agensts wrongfully imprisoned and stood up for them. I have to credit her for that. Grudgingly, but I’ll credit her for it.

However, with this announcement, she has returned to the same old, same old that I expect of her. Well, Diane, for a brief moment, you were the stopped clock (right twice a day). Back to the usual, eh?

Democratic Party Definition of Centrism, 2007:

Diane Feinstein, Centrist: Supports Gay Marriage

Barbara Boxer, Liberal: Supports Mandatory Government-Funded Gay Marriages for All, to be funded by legalizing and taxing terrorists.

Being the wife of the President has trained her to be President? I think that this is the most ridiculous reason in the world. I guess being the wife of a doctor should make you automatically eligible for hospital privileges.

By the end of this election, we will all be on Malox and/or Pepto Bismol. Just hearing these traitors names makes me sick to my stomach and it’s early in the election campaign.

Scary, but your comment is more fact than sarcasm.

These two are the biggest pompous asses in the entire country! Their words drip with contempt, ooze self-importance, and they have the distinct smell of deciet, even when they say something innocuous like giving the time of day.

Can't you just hear Hilliary, with her shrill voice and fake manner exclaiming "LeT mE JuSt sAy..."

If there were ever a woman I would consider punching in the face, she's IT.

The difference between a centrist RAT and a leftist RAT is the order of countries on their lists of countries we should surrender to.

The question was absolutley legit, but phrased wrong.

Villaggaga is a national co-chair for Chillary's campaign.

And that should have been the lead in to the question.

And the follow-up question should have been...so, Mrs. Clinton, you are ok with a current adulterer as a current co-chair of your national presidential campaign ?
