The GOP is the only thing standing between us and total surrender. The GOP is not MY enemy the liberal traitors are.
I agree with you PD. I said much the same yesterday regarding President Bush. Here's my post:

President Bush thought he could put on the charm, do that little wink of his, reach across the aisle, and be a compassionate guy with the Dems and they would reciprocate to some degree. He was completely naive. They are totally ruthless and they dont play softball. He let them humilate him over and over again. The Bush people on FR kept sayinghes got too much class, but he just ended up looking like a chump and a door mat IMO. Not the image we need in a leader in these times. They were very successful in weakening him. In the end he did it to himself, but they got in some great blows. So the left already hated him and he alienated a lot on the rightits left him completely weakened and that puts America in a very bad position.
I never thought I would have to say this to Hugh but - DUH!!!
Easy,
They squandered everything we gave them, while forgetting
who they were. They finished it off by opposing the
issues we care about.

COB Thanks for your service!
The usual suspects like Lindsay Graham, Ted Kennedy, and John Kyl are pushing to add the Dream Act and other illegal alien amnesty language to unrelated bills on the Senate floor TONIGHT! We have reports of attempts to attach these measures to the war funding bill and the Homeland Security funding bill. We need everyone lighting up the DC phone lines and voice mails TONIGHT and THURSDAY, with an urgent message.
Time to set the phones on fire again!
How much do you want to b et that all this negativity comes from registered Republicans? It seems to me that we get a lot of help from malicious visitors when there is a chance to slam the party.

I've been a registered Republican since 1970. My Uncle was for decades our State's Republican Party Chairman.
I've had enough.
“Because the party wants to give us the same tired old repackaged crap. I give to individual candidates.”
Me too, and I will never give to the RNC again! They have decided to back RINOS over real conservatives, so I will find my own real conservatives to send my money to!
And do you forget the sex scene with the Nazi at the beginning? How is that supposed to be exempt from network standards just because the rest of the film might have merit?
My problem with the criticism of it had more to do with the more extreme aspects of religious conservatives. Like I said, I have no problem with the religious conservatives, but going on about what they had issue with of the film, completely overlooked, or overshadowed the over all message of the film, which IMHO was actually very Christian, and ends up doing a disservice to religion and conservatives.
I mean, lets be realistic here, the Bible itself can be rather explicit and graphic at times. Should there be a warning on it?
That is so true. I’m really getting tired of both parties and their continual lies, just to get votes and be elected. I think it is finally time for a 3rd party and a revolution, to some extent. I wonder just how far a 3rd party running a truly conservative candidate would get? Any thoughts? Ross Perot did pretty well, other than he allowed Clinton to get into office. Do you think that a died in the wool, so to speak conservative candidate would stand a chance?
I tell the RNC I can’t afford to donate because so much of my tax money goes to provide services for illegal aliens. Unless and until they seriously enforce current law, count me out.
I’m tired of being taken for granted.
My points: 1. Unless the GOP runs a true conservative for president, it will not win. Hildabeast will win. 2. Unless the GOP is forced to go back to its roots it will never do it on its own. In any case, what’s the point of electing a “moderate” Republican when he or she is not that much different than a Democrat. Aiding and abetting that allows the Democrats a defacto win once again. I don’t understand why people like you allow yourselves to be intimidated into voting for a Pubbie simply to keep a Democrat out of the office. Have you ever asked yourself why the GOP refuses to field a viable Conservative candidate? Perhaps you are one of those “moderates” with few if any core beliefs; and it’s perfectly OK with you that the Democrats have neutered the GOP. Issues like limited government (which implies lower gov’t spending), secure borders, fixing social security and fixing education are no longer negotiable to me. Your position simply dooms you to voting for “moderate” GOP candidates forever. I refuse to accept that as how things should be. This time “moderates” like yourself will not be able to count on the base coming back. The last straw was the so-called comprehensive immigration act. The sheer arrogance on the part of the President and other Senate RINOs was breathtaking. It told us all we needed to know about our standing in the Republican Party.
I’ll say it again, the GOP “moderate” presidential candidate cannot win without us. Therefore, Hildebeast wins. It’s a simple as that.
I have no idea what the potential appointment of 2 more SCOTUS judges, before Bush’s term runs out, has to do with the 2008 presidential election or the BIG picture. I fully expect the Dems to block anyone, except one of their own, that Bush may nominate. As I recall they are in the majority in the House and Senate.
And how did that happen? I think it happened because the conservative base just got fed up with voting for “moderate” Pubbie candidates. That translated into not voting or voting for Conservative or Independent Party candidates.
Reality: The GOP has refused to consider running truly conservative candidates for president since Ronald Reagen. Have your ever asked yourself why the GOP refuses to field conservative presidential candidates? That’s a good place to start if you actually want to understand why Pubbies are not winning much these days. Why would a political party choose to reject a model that won (Reagen) and continue to push the model that loses? It’s really as simple as that.
Issues like limited gov’t (which implies lower gov’t spending) secure borders, fixing social security, fixing education, our Republic form of gov’t, abortion and the belief that our inalienable rights come from God and not some shark suited politician are no longer negotiable to me.
If the GOP wants to win it must run a conservative presidential candidate.
