Got this in email the other day, wish I could go!
"On behalf of Sen. Fred Thompson, I want to thank you for joining with other Friends of Fred online to show your support. Friends of Fred, of course, is more than an online gathering place. Fred is traveling around the country talking about his vision for America's future, and as a valued supporter, we would like to invite you to attend a fundraising event in your area. Please join us for an evening reception in Dallas on Wednesday, July 25th. We hope you'll be able to join us, make some new Friends, and show your support for Fred."

Gacck, come on Fred, why are letting Mitt do the heavy lifting, sugust or september?
We can’t get any work out of politicians in august or September, not in the Congress (thank goodness) or in Iraq or out of Fred.....

"Thompson had a fund-raiser on Cape Code last weekend and will hold one in Baton Rouge, La., on Wednesday. On Thursday, hell appear at radio host Sean Hannitys Freedom Concert in the in San Diego area. On Friday, Thompson travels to Philadelphia to speak to conservative state lawmakers at the 34th annual meeting of the American Legislative Exchange Council." Thompson is about as visible as anyone could hope for six months before the primaries.
Randy Enwright as campaign manager is good news. He was executive director of the Iowa GOP during their growth years.

Several Republicans said Thompson needs to dive in sooner than that. The momentum is slowed from the initial hype, said one Republican sympathetic to Thompson. "The luster is gone. Its like the girlfriend who just isnt fun anymore. Its time for substance. People are ready to see him engage. Hes been in his own little universe.
And some said he already has waited too long. I dont see it, said one Republican operative who initially was excited about Thompson. Now hes not the exciting new candidate. He might as well be an old candidate.
Where do they find these idiots???? Fred is still surging in national polls and is now in first place by a second national polling firm. Jealous idiots. There is a good reason they remain nameless.

There is a good reason they remain nameless.Exactly. Because they don't exist.

I’ve heard his wife is the person firing staffers now.
I’m not sure if thats good news, or bad news, for the Thompson campaign.

His announcement date has been a moving target and his response to reports that he once lobbied for an abortion rights group was late and evasive.FEAR THE FRED
To: Badeye
There are some threads on the topic right now. Did you know that Jeri Thompson was, among other things, a spokesperson for the RNC? She’s got political savvy. Why wouldn’t she be involved in her husband’s campaign?

I don't have all that much faith in the The Politico based on their record.
That aid, Fred has about peaked out for now and may start to slide before his announcement.

They are wishing that he were lagging in the polls...I think they’re trying to create a self-fulfilling prophecy or something. Guess Fred is the only GOP hopeful that makes the dems nervous.
