Breaking from Congressman Peter King. The whistleblower protection remains in the Homeland Security bill. This is the amendment that protects citizens from lawsuits if they report suspicious activity such as the flying imams. This is good news.

It’s hard to imagins the Blue-’Rats supporting the John Doe amendment. They would never do anything that would impede a trial lawyer’s right to collect a fee.

Even if this bill becomes law, I think it is too late for the whistleblowers of the flying imams. That happened BEFORE the bill became law...

Because of the new law, even if not retroactive, will have an impact. Unless there is an entire jury of people wearing towels on their heads, it should be an easy one to beat.

Flying Imams are grounded.....

The flying Imams incident was a total setup. They were looking to file a lawsuit.

>>Geez. Anymore it seems we get a better response from a dem congress than we had when the republicans were in control, not that the current leadership is acceptable or anything, but at least they seem to listen to us when we raise enough hell. We should keep at it every time they attempt to betray the nation. When the Republicans get back into power we should treat them no differently when they act against the conservative base.<<
I think its more that this one is not as divisive.

We aren’t safe until the bill is on the President’s desk. Not that we’ll be safe then, but only then can we be assured the “good citizen” protection amendment is in the law.

Dont know the breakdown. King gave great credit to the only elected Democrat who is still a patriot Joe Lieberman. We can disagree with Lieberman on a number of issues, but I trust him to do what is right to defend this country. Bush needs to name him as the new Sec of Def so that a Pubbie governor can name a new senator and we take back the Senate. What a splendid idea DougfromUpland!!!! Hope Pres. Bush reads through FR before bedtime!!

It’s a sad day in the U.S. when we need a Federal Department of Homeland Security. We don’t need such a department in government but that’s another matter for another time. It’s even sadder when we need to protect persons from reporting ones they suspect being an actual danger to the nation from being sued.
