Romney Flexes Muscles In Dems Direction
The Atlantic Online ^ | 07/23/07 | Marc Ambinder

Mitt Romney, in a sign that he is comfortable as the early-state frontrunner, aims to up his national profile by aggressively bracketing the Democratic presidential candidates over the next few weeks, aides said this weekend.

The campaign hopes the regular reproaches will be seen as signs of confidence and strength and will help to reduce the friction that prevents Romney from being seen as the leader of the Republican pack. His national poll ratings regularly lag those of his better-known rivals.

Aside from the benefit to his own candidacy, Romney's aides are worried that Republicans generally aren't doing enough to soften up the Democrats most likely to be their party's nominee.

On the trail, Romney will spend a little more time analyzing "The Romney vision versus the Democrat vision," according to one aide. He will compare his proposals -- metaphorically, a three-legged stool of strong families, strong national defense and a strong economies, to what he'll call a comparatively shaky and liberal grounding of the Democrats' proposals, the aide said....

A good article and it has an entertaining list of sour-grapes, talk-back comments below it.

Unlike the Dems, I love competition! Keep it up Mitt! Keep it up Rudy! And hopefully when Fred gets in he will make it part of his stump speech too!

I see Keith Olbermann is already mad at him for doing it, too. And this, of course, makes me happy. :) :) :)

Let the ole SourPuss sputter, says I.

True. I wish the rest of the Republicans started following Reagan's 11th commandment.

And she didn't debunk the Karl Marx reference. Instead of showing she is not she just said well he'll be a communist tommorrow.

The really funny thing is that for all of Olbermann’s swipes and attacks and smarm, less then 250,000 people are watching M(isery)NBC at anyone time during the day.

There are more people watching home Shopping Network....IMO...LOL!

TRUE.

It doesn’t matter who the GOP nominee is if we lose to Hillary anyway.

Right now I like Fred. But I’ll tell you, whoever publicly criticizes the RATS in the most effective manner, in a way that actually catches the public’s attention, is the one who will end up with my votes & cash.

I view this as the NUMBER ONE FAILING of the Jorge administration: absolute inability to speak truth to treason. Absolute willingness to let the RATS win every public argument.

I’m sick of it, and whoever changes that gets my money and vote.

At least some of the candidates remember who the real opposition is instead of eating their own..

Baracaca Hussein Osama Obama, in last night's debate, threw it in Romney's face that when he was running for Governor of Massachusettes, he supported "Age Appropriate Sex Education" for young children.

Watch it Mitt...look out....uh oh.....here it comes....here it comes....no...no....no....aaagggghhhhhhh! Gotcha! Came back and bit ya' in the butt; huh?

Huessein seemed “unsettled” that his kindergarten sex ed was somehow not a good idea, he commented about that the next day as well.

Romney is at least putting the fight int he Dhimis yard and out of our own front yard.

I think Mitt got the only mention of a candidate running for the other party at the Dim debate.

That’s got to be good.

A more truthful statement than we realize. If she gets elected we all will.

I can hardly wait to see him announce his position on the Second Amendment. But I’m not holding my breath. Romney would take my guns just as fast as any Rat would.
