According to a report, New York Governor Elliot Spitzer's (D) staff has been using the NY State Police to harass and spy on his political opponents.
And guess what word is curiously missing from the 1,000 word NYT story:
TOPICS: Crime/Corruption; Culture/Society; Government; US: New York

But meanwhile, the Post had endorsed Spitzer over Republican John Faso. WHY???????? And the local GOP stabbed Faso in teh back.

It is a post more about the New York Times, then Spitzer.

Also...message to author (nyt):
Did you forget that "Dear Elliot" is a DEM-O-FRIGGIN-CRAT in your thousand word story? Or is it the policy of the NYT not to notice/mention this small but important fact?

An Englishman told me once what his dad had told him concerning playing rugby, it also applies to politics I guess.

I’m waiting for someone to be described as a staunch liberal.
To: ocr1
I am well aware of that...and I was just adding out that the Post (and News) are giving it front-page coverage. And NYers know that Spitzer is a Dem.

Julie, I wish I knew...they claimed they really supported Faso but had to go with who would win and reform the state. He’s a real winner, now! As for the GOP, that was back when Pataki had ideas (delusions) of becoming president.

Does anyone have a link to the original NY Times story? I tried searching over there for it and it appears to have gone down the memory hole.

I was never fooled by Spitzer and the Post should be ashamed of themselves. Faso was treated like dirt. The NY Sun did endorse Faso - the Post should have also. Spitzer has accomplished nothing except sell out even more to the unions. And he is corrupt to boot! And a big, big pro abort.

It's obvious Cuomo let Spitzer hmself off the hook on this. I guess since the Clintons were allowed to use the FBI to create false allegations against Billy Dale (Travelgate), that it was okay for Spitzer to use the State Police to make false allegations against Bruno.
I noticed the State Police Superintendent in on the little scandal is serving as "Acting Superintendent". I doubt he'll be "Acting Superintendent" much longer, and can kiss goodbye, any idea of being made permanent in that post. Back to the barracks for you buddy! Either that, or he'll be given the option to retire or be brought up on departmental charges.
