MCMINNVILLE, Ore., July 22 (UPI) -- Two 13-year-old Oregon boys are facing serious sex charges for allegedly slapping female classmates' bottoms as a form of horseplay.
Police arrested Cory Mashburn and Ryan Cornelison of McMinnville and if convicted could be permanently marked as sex offenders, The Portland Oregonian said Sunday. The teens also could spend as long as 10 years in juvenile detention if found guilty.
While the boys' parents have opposed such a harsh penalty, McMinnville District Aattorney Bradley Berry said such youthful acts could have longstanding consequences for the alleged victims.
"These cases are devastating to children," he said. "They are life-altering cases."
Interviews with the boys' fellow students found other teens were engaging in similar behavior at the time and two of the female victims have since recanted their statements.
The Oregonian said the boys are due in court on Aug. 20 to answer to all charges stemming from the February event.
. One more time......read the above. These two ADMITTED to poking girls' breasts...in the past.
Or is a poke in the breast also a compliment? Is it a sexual assault?
A compliment? You simply cannot be female. That type of behavior is just plain embarrassing.
But these boys you defend...they've done this sort of thing in the past...and they ADMIT to poking girls in the breasts! You think this is okay?
Um,I have a daughter and the butt slapping is done by both girls and boys.
They think of it as horseplay and not sexual related.
Normal behavior for kids that age.
Now if it was grabbing of the boobs or the boys private part I would have a problem with it.
But that never happened.
Sheesh. For SIX posts now I've quoted from the article. These fine boys ADMITTED that they've grabbed girls' breasts in the past.
I understand you're probably reading the thread from start until I discovered that these boys have a history of this sort of thing and, heh, noting that absolutely no one has a word to say because...well they were wrong. I, however, was right.
To all those who were so damn mean to ME whilst defending these fine boys who admit to touching girls' breasts in the past, I'll not forget you.
You complain about the lamestream media yet y'all fell hook, line and sinker for this story obviously fed to the press by the DEFENSE!
Maybe it's because I am a true crime buff. The defense did a damn good job of getting out the story of an educational system run amok and prosecuting sweet boys for an innocent butt slap that, honestly folks, really wasn't supposed to land on the butt, by golly. When it looks more and more like these boys have a history of this sort of stuff, what with having admitted to it and everything.
This is my point and it's why I could not leave this thread for so long, unusual for me. But the FIRST reaction of many of the males was to nail me to the cross.
Men, hey they can be mean. Women are scared to death of men. Women rarely defend themselves. I kind of like conservative men for the most part but damn if it doesn't seem that conservative men lust, LUST I tell you, to come upon what they perceive is some left-wing female liberal all complaining about normal male behavior, ...and be as damn mean as hell to her as males can possibly online. This isn't the first time this has happened to me.
Well I gotta Blog and this is going to make a great story.
Poking breasts is different then swatting butts.
I am a female.
I just don’t buy into the Feminist movement
If some one in a workplace would do the swatting on the but and the poking at the breast he would not get criminally charged, but would be fired on the spot.
The boys and girls alike should have been expelled from school.I say boys and girls, because the girls also participated in this.
Equal justice for all.

Good find. I don’t think I would want my child going to an Oregon public school—well any public school really.
It's okay for adults to make mistakes by strip searching teenage girls over stolen property (let's move on), but lets prosecute silly 13 year old boys to the full extent.
Well that clarifies your story for me.
California?
I saw one of these brats on TV with his mother today. She was bawling and blubbering about how unfair everyone was being to her darling little angel. She made all kinds of excuses for his bad behavior.
Moms like this raise bad sons who abuse women.
Who and what station was doing the interview? I’d like to try to see it.

Thanks so much Ken H for the ping. Looks like public pressure once again rose to the occasion and helped an injustice. Very good news.
TODAY,(7/25) between 9-12 (or 12-3, if you're in the East), the attorneys for the boys will be interviewed. You may also refer to Dennis' website.

"Boys on Trial for Slapping Girls on the Butt"
The DA calls it a sex crime. You decide. Here's a video interview (you have to go to Dennis' website to see this) of the boys. This is another Duke La Crosse style prosecution. If anything it's worse.
Thanks so much for the ping Max7. Was it in the first hour? Hopefully I didn’t miss it. If so, I’ll catch it on townhall.com later. Thanks again.
I told my sister the same thing, the girl is crying out for help. Unfortunately, the mother made her remove the offers of sex, from her web site. The girl said that it was supposed to be a joke, but I think that it was a call for help. I am encouraging the mother to have the computer examined for other emails and contacts between the girl and her father. It’s time to bring in the law, and the best way is to have the proof.
Absolutely, I heard that My Space is actively screening the backgrounds of the men contacting these young girls. They found 29000, and have already took action against 7000. It’s a start anyway.
