MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — The nation's largest Hispanic advocacy group says it must come up with a strategy to combat "a wave of hate" its leaders say came from talk radio's efforts to sink the Senate's immigration bill.
"That had an extraordinary impact in the Senate, and as a nation, I don't think we should be comfortable with the fact that the United States Senate responded to what was largely a wave of hate," Cecilia Munoz, the National Council of La Raza's senior vice president for research, advocacy and legislation, told The Washington Times after meeting with NCLR affiliates to talk about a new strategy.
Stung by the collapse of the immigration bill in the Senate last month, NCLR leaders and members at the group's annual convention in Miami Beach, which began yesterday, say they will have to start a campaign to register and mobilize voters, to warn against crossing the line in the debate and to force lawmakers to take a clear stand on what they are willing to tolerate.
"I think we have to shine a light on it," Ms. Munoz said. "At the end of the day, we believe people need to take sides, that you can't stand on the sidelines, especially if part of what is motivating the actions of the United States Congress is not really about the public-policy debate, but is about their discomfort with Latinos."

The illegals should be mad at them because THEY are the ones who told them to march in the streets "DEMANDING MORE RIGHTS" carrying signs that told Americans that this is their land and to go back to Europe, as they were waving Mexican flags. THAT was the defining moment that turned me TOTALLY against them. Now the only thing I want is for them to be deported and a fence built to keep them out. Illegals and politicians!
My anger isn't just for them. I blame elPresidente Boosh, and the Senator traitors who encouraged them every step of the way. I want everyone of them fired, dragged from their office and hanged for treason. We all witnessed their trial, so IMO, they don't get another one. Just like Jim said, the bast*rds are inside the gate. We've got to drive them all out.
La Raza----"The Race"----is an avowed separatist organization that promotes racist, anti-white, anti-American, pro-open border policies that undermine the US gov't.
La Raza is on-record as promulgating the violation of state and federal laws, and is facilitating the fraudlent registering and voting by illegal foreign citizens, in order to undermine the US govt (and to obtain US gov't monetary benefits fraudulently). La Raza's activities are funded by several foundations (listed on the Discover the Networks.org). Among them are:
American Express Foundation, AT&T Foundation, Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Fannie Mae Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, W. K. Kellogg Foundation, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation and Verizon Foundation. Between 2001 and 2003, the Ford Foundation gave La Raza about $9.83 million, with one grant alone totaling $8.05 million.

Unless you mean "hispanic" is not a race then it is a racial issue. Why should 80% of immigrants come from one race/culture?

I should have put a /s at the end of my statement. I agree with you statement but I still don’t condone racism especially with government support. Most of the government racism is against the white middle class.
La Raza is also, by definition, a racist group, and like CAIR, is virulently anti-semetic. Some of the articles archived on the aztlen web site (www.aztlan.net) are really eye-opening. It's amazing to read about how the evil Jews are running the country, and keeping everyone else down. And of course, how evil the USA is, in general.

Hard to believe there are people heading organizations that are that dumb..to think that was a good plan...

It really was dumb. Just like this woman who is making these statements to the media. It's only going to anger Americans that much more. They heard the RINO Senators blame it on talk radio and that's where she got that from. THAT was another thing that made me angry. None of them understand that we got mad without talk radio. I very seldom listen to it, but I was furious.
Who the heck do they think they are? They have NO RIGHTS in America. They have messed up playing the race card. I don't care where they come from. If they are in America illegally, they need to be deported. That being said, LA RAZA and MEChA did turn it into a Mexican thing through the march. When I saw those Mexicans run their flag up over the top of ours at a UNITED STATES POST OFFICE, I can't remember when anything has made me that mad. That took a lot of nerve, or in this case high stupidity to do something like that. It was like they declared war on us. If they want a war, they're fixing to get one. This is one American woman who will NOT be pushed any further than we already have been.
