Hispanic group aims to stop 'wave of hate'
The Washington Times ^ | July 22, 2007 | Stephen Dinan

Posted on 07/22/2007 6:01:23 AM PDT by stm

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — The nation's largest Hispanic advocacy group says it must come up with a strategy to combat "a wave of hate" its leaders say came from talk radio's efforts to sink the Senate's immigration bill.

"That had an extraordinary impact in the Senate, and as a nation, I don't think we should be comfortable with the fact that the United States Senate responded to what was largely a wave of hate," Cecilia Munoz, the National Council of La Raza's senior vice president for research, advocacy and legislation, told The Washington Times after meeting with NCLR affiliates to talk about a new strategy.

Stung by the collapse of the immigration bill in the Senate last month, NCLR leaders and members at the group's annual convention in Miami Beach, which began yesterday, say they will have to start a campaign to register and mobilize voters, to warn against crossing the line in the debate and to force lawmakers to take a clear stand on what they are willing to tolerate.

"I think we have to shine a light on it," Ms. Munoz said. "At the end of the day, we believe people need to take sides, that you can't stand on the sidelines, especially if part of what is motivating the actions of the United States Congress is not really about the public-policy debate, but is about their discomfort with Latinos."

““The Race” (La Raza) is nothin more than a “brown separatist” group bent on flooding our country with as many illegal aliens as possible strictly for political power.”

The same can be said of the Senate!

If the majority of Americans only had a fraction of information about what’s about to happen to this country, there would be an armed revolution.

I don’t know your age but have you seen more bizarre times than this?

I mean...a guy running around the world telling everyone that economic progress and pleasure is destroying the planet. Racist minority groups are calling the country hateful and playing the victim because the country didn’t give citizenship to illegal aliens. Radical muslims from the unemployed to doctors are trying to kill those that don’t bow to their wishes.

It’s just bizarre.

Let me also add in the Pope believes America’s involvement in Iraq is immoral. And people in DC are destroying SUVs “for the environment.”

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Who are the “we” that are not to be comfortable? Ms Munoz is not speaking for the American citizens. “We the People”, but for 25,000,000 illegasl aliens...

The United States Senate responded to the United States people as they are meant to do...

They responded to their own constituents...the 25,000,000 illegal aliens are not the constituents of any of the 100 senators that the American citizens send to Washington...and the senators are not answerable to any illegal aliens...

The senators owe nothing to the illegal aliens but everything to the American citizens...the senators swore to uphold the Constitution of the UNITED STATES and to represent the AMERICAN people in congress, not illegal aliens who have no standing in our government and are demanding invaders, and unlawfully present in our country...

The senators owe allegience to the United States and to the people of the United States...

How wearing these sick, ugly arguments from La Raza truly are...that’s a big part of their game plan is...to wear us down through a continual onslaught of abusive, false accusations that make Americans cring and feel ashamed...

No American wants to be thought of as a bigot, racist, xenophobe (whatever that is) anti-immigrant, hateful etc...the conditioning of the last 40 years has placed the American psyche in a position of defensiveness at the very hint of racial suggestion...

Some Americans will do anything to avoid a label that would be repugnant to others to the point where they back those who embrace racial discimination by their very name..”La Raza”, The Race” (everything for the race, nothing for those outside of the race)...Lindsey Graham has lived in South Carolina his whole life...

Americans should be proud of the senators who stood up to La Raza and listened to the American “We the People” when we spoke...

These racist organizations are the true ‘haters’. They hate the prospect of other groups, such as Chinese, Indians, Africans, E Euros, etc being granted legal immigration status. They will fight tooth & nail to block any attempt to substitute their illegal constituents for better, more highly qualified immigrants. It’s ALL about their power to manipulate racial identity politics.

It's time for patriots to go on the offensive. Tired of being called a racist? Well, guess who are the haters? That's right, the people responsible for corrupting the immigration process to the point that we can't reach a meaningful solution towards bringing in qualified candidates from throughout the world.

Racist organizations like La Raza are STEALING life opportunities from the rest of the world. Making that accusation places them on the defensive and forces them to explain exactly how their criminal actions are not affecting innocent families & children from other countries.

Wow.
This is an all-time first. Never saw the poster of a thread have his comment rejected, but the thread remain in place.

OK.
Not sure how to word this, but the stupidity is self evident when Resistance to criminal behavior = HATE.

Responding to that tiny-brain reasoning just encourages the mental pigmies.

On to the next thread.

Speaking at the La Raza “The Race” conference Republican Diaz-Balart made these comments.

It is important that we emphasize the Spanish language and that we keep the Spanish language, and that we transmit that emphasis to our children and our grandchildren,” he said.

Wait, wait, they call themselves 'The Race' and are critical of 'hate speech'? What's next, the Klan complaining about racial profiling?

While there's some that hate all forms of immigration, I hate illegal aliens. This has nothing to do with immigration, they don't want to be Americans, they have no intention of becoming them, and hence why the last amnesty was an abysmal failure with only 40% actually bothering to fill out the paperwork.

Someone wants to come to this country, they do the same thing I'd have to do if I want to join theirs - go to the embassy, fill out the form, and wait until someone gives permission.

How hard is this for people to understand?

PS: BUILD THE DAMN WALL!
