I recall a number of years ago reading that Mr. Hormel gave large portions of his corporate profits to support advancing homosexual causes and such. Haven’t bought a Hormel product since. (I’m sure by me not buying chili or Spam his pocketbook is really hurting, but I just don’t want my money to support those kinds of causes if I know it).

I think Mr. Hormel (or Ms. Hormel depending on how he was feeling that day) was also disgraced ex-President Clinton's pick for Ambassador to The Vatican.
I don't remember if the nomination was confirmed or not but I do remember there was some uproar about that.
