If Majority Leader Harry Reid cant start pulling troops out of Iraq, he doesnt want to start paying them any more either.
After an amendment to begin withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq within 120 days failed to receive the 60 votes needed to proceed, Reid set the entire defense authorization bill aside. By doing so, he shelved a 3.5 percent pay raise for all uniformed service personnel, $4 billion in equipment upgrades and a new program to treat traumatic brain injuries.
To increase pressure on Republicans to support the measure, sponsored by Sen. Carl Levin (D.-Mich.) and Sen. Jack Reed (D.-R.I.), Reid threw the Senate into an all night session on Tuesday evening that lasted through Wednesday morning. Levin-Reid fell eight votes short, 52-47.
There are two things that I want to accomplish, Reid told reporters immediately after the amendment vote. One is to pass a defense authorization bill, but with a deadline dealing with Iraq. Once we put that together, we'll move forward on it.
It's a nightmare. Abandon our troops, snatch defeat from victory. How can people be so stupid to support these rats?
Domestic traitors pose a much greater threat to this country than all the foreign terrorists ever spawned.
If the Republicans can’t use this issue to show the American People how evil the Democrats are, then the old saying is really true:
There are two parties in America, the evil party and the stupid party.
He should be questioned on why he wants defeat so badly. Is he just stupid, naive or is he bought and paid for....
He is doing more damage to the US than the enemy. I can’t believe he is still allowed to act in this way. 2010 is so far away. How in the world did he get re-elected.
You don't get to prosecute the war you frikin' Constitutional moron!
Why-O-Why did the good State of Nevada give us this moron!
RESPONSE: CASH FLOW.
I’m stunned beyond belief on this.
I am one of those soldiers...with a family...that Mr. Reid is using as a political pawn via our paycheck.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear.”

do the dhue: Pay the Troops or Won't Pay Congress
Ho do you like them deadlines?
If the American people do not recognize the detriment that this Congress is causing our National Security and other interests, then I will lose all faith in the people.
We must remove the traitors in this Congress. I really don't want to wait until 2008 to start. I want to start impeaching the demorats and RINOs on Capital Hill right now.
I am sick of the traitors already. And if they don't like being called traitors, they shouldn't give me a reason to do so.
REMOVE REID & PELOSER PERMENTLY!!
I propose an 11% pay raise for the troops and a pat cut for congress. I hate increasing taxes but these folks deserve our support
All for show, no one in the military is going to see their paycheck affected...
Yes.
Yes, shades of Jimmy Carter, who did the same when he was president.
We will if the pay raise doesn’t go in.
AAFES likes to raise prices at the PX abut the same time our raises go in. LOL!
let Reid try to do this... it will back fire... the American people will not follow... remember when congress let the federal government shut down? even though i pretty much agreed with it, many Americans did not...
On e of the greatest liabilities with many name politicians is that they are so well off-or see their office as a means to wealth...that their conduct and actions betray the interests of the rest of us who NEED the rights and protections of the US Constitution to afford ourselves and our families opportunity in this world. GWB in no way shape of form NEEDS the US constitution to be sure of his and his families opportunity in the world. This is a very salable position for any politician running for office.
