'I Hoped To Be A Glorious Martyr'


A woman who was inside Islamabad's Red Mosque when it was stormed by Pakistani troops on 10 July has given the BBC one of the first accounts of the final hours of the siege. Unwilling to be named, the survivor said she was not held hostage by militants inside.

More than 100 people died in the army operation - she was one of only 30 women to walk out alive after soldiers went in. Following are excerpts from the interview with Rafia Riaz of the BBC's Urdu service.

"They asked me to come back home, but I said that I would never come back as I wished to be martyred. My brother said that he would force me to return, but I told him that he could be beaten up if he came near the seminary..."

"We wanted to carry out suicide attacks. We didn't have enough ammunition to fight face to face. We had a small number of arms with which our mujahideen brothers were fighting.

"We asked the teacher to provide us with arms necessary for suicide attacks. She said that we didn't have sufficient explosives. Yes, we had a passion and we were willing to go to all lengths...

"After the evening prayer we found out that Maulana Aziz - the chief cleric - had been arrested while he was trying to flee wearing a burka. We were told that he'd been called to speak to the prime minister.

"When we asked our teacher why Maulana Aziz had left in a burka she said that the prime minister advised him to do so. She said that he had been told to come out in disguise so that he wouldn't be killed..."

"Now they've attacked the Red Mosque and Jamia Hafsa [the seminary attached to it], I hope the whole country will have Red Mosques. I will work for jihad, and open a madrassa and train people for jihad."

We had been told by our teacher that they had put explosives in the building...

We were crying a lot because Korans were burning inside the Red Mosque which was on fire.

The statement is a bit ambiguous, but a reasonable interpretation of the "they" who put explosivees in the building was the Islamist extremists themselves. So here we have the usual spectacle of a typically-irrational Islamist believing mutually-contradictory things - that Korans burning inside the mosque which is on fire is a horrible desecration, yet setting explosives with the clear intention of destroying the mosque and all of the Korans inside (as well as the people inside) was just fine, thank you...

Not "extremists", Just regular "good devout" Muslims, following the teachings of the Koran and example of Mohammad (hadith) to the letter.

It’s not really clear. They get to watch their husbands get it on with 72 80 foot tall virgins with skin so transparent you can see their bones, plus all the pearly young boys they want.

Mohammad doesn’t say much about women in his descriptions of his heavenly brothel. I guess they just have to sit there and shut up just like on earth. Most women go straight to hell because they fathered bastards anyways according to Moe,(I still can’t figure out how they father bastards, but hey, the koran is the perfect word of allah) so it really isn’t an issue

If it is for teaching Jihad they can, just not if it teaches regular subjects like reading and math. They can also teach in Madrassa's, depends on the Islamic country and to what degree sharia law is enforced. I think women are allowed to go to school in Pakistan, at least in the main cities. I don't know about the countryside though. probably not since that's were the Taliban hang out.

these girls are so utterly brainwashed , it’s hard to even feel sorry for them . There is a story in Thailand of a certain warrior princess whom , after all the Thai men had fled, organized all the remaining females to ‘entertain’ the invading army ,and once they were sated and lying in total stupor , they rose up in the night with their long knives and slayed the entire enemy army ,in one fell swoop.
This is what I would encourage every muslim woman to do , if they ever wish to be free of the enslavement , mental and physical , in which they will live ever more ,otherwise...

The answer I'd read a while back was, they would earn guaranteed salvation for their family. Islam is a works based religion, if you don't do enough good works you don't get to paradise...with the only exception being to die as a martyr, that gets one guaranteed paradise. So really, suicide bombers are cowards who know they haven't lived a good life and are taking the desperate path to salvation. Only the devil would be able to come up with murdering people equals salvation. Islam is a death cult, pure and simple.

Apparently there will be jinn (demons/devils) in Moes paradise according to this:

Qur'an 55:62 "And beside this, there are two other Gardens, rich green in color from plentiful watering. In them will be two springs, gushing forth, and fruits. And beautiful companions, virgins cloistered in pavilions, undefiled by men and jinn, reclining on green cushions and rich mattresses. Which of the favors of you Lord will you both deny?"

If there are "jinn" in Mohammad's paradise, and it resembles a brothel, can there be any doubt where Moe's "paradise" is located?

Precisely. I believe that even when the jihadists speak of the "virgins" that is just a socially accepted euphanism for the desperate avoidance of punishment for their sins.

assuming that they had ceased to be virgins in life, upon their death , they would be somehow transformed back into virgins for the purpose of the martyred men to then enjoy.
Once again not virgins , what then becomes of them? As a virgin is only a virgin until a certain single moment , then never more .

I've wondered about that: For all those virgins (and at 72 per martyr, there's a ton of them), is this their Heaven or their Hell? If it's their Hell, then what did so many virgins do (or fail to do) to get condemned? And either way, whether it's Hell or a "bad rap" type of Heaven for them, wouldn't they be depressed all the time and just no fun to be around?

Oh wait, I'm trying to apply logic to something that has none. Never mind.
