I consider calling the Minutemen vigilantes as hateful. I can see his reasoning considering they are not legitimate agents of the border patrol.
The idea that people have to see any opinion differing from their own as "hateful" is just plain sad.

American citizens have EVERY right to form militias. This is guaranteed under the the Bill of Rights. That Bush called the Minutemen "vigilantes" is HATEFUL!

Vigilantes are very different than citizen militias. Vigilantes involve themselves in both applying enforcement they deem necessary AND acting as a judicial body to execute penalties for breaking the laws they deem necessary.
Unless you know otherwise, the Minutemen have never usurped or interfered with the lawful judicial processes in our nation. Vigilantes would in a heartbeat.
