Please.
You are running away from the question. Is Islam a cult or not?
BTW, i think Boortz is an Atheist (I am not), but that does not prevent sound reasoning from prevailing.
IIRC Boortz attended a PCUSA chursh in Atlanta. PCUSA is socially liberal as is Boortz who is also the Libertarian.
Running away how?
As I said, the real definition of a cult is “a religion I really, really don’t like.”
Do you have another, objective definition that would cover Islam that wouldn’t apply equally to other religions that have been widely accepted now or in the past?
It is also, perhaps, relevant that our Constitution prohibits our government from distinguishing between “religions” and “cults.” Individuals, of course, are free to develop their own opinions.
I believe Boortz, who's very reticent to discuss religion generally, let alone his own beliefs--primarily because though conservative in most ways, he supports abortion (another thing he will never discuss on the radio), is a theologically liberal Episcopalian.
Not quite an atheist, but close.... Closer to a deist, actually.
Politically, other than his pro-abortion views, darwinism and libertarianism toward things like prostitution for example, I agree with Boortz, particularly on this issue.
