...............In heavily Hispanic southern Texas, where cultural and economic ties to Mexico run deep, local officials, business groups and environmentalists have spoken out against the wall as unnecessary and unwanted...............

Well, good then. You have a few months notice to pick up all your bambinos, and your belongings, and get the hell out of our country.

Bambino is Italian. Perhaps you're thinking of nino.

Why should Tejanos leave the country their ancestors fought for and which their families have lived in for hundreds of years?

You forget that Texas was conquered and Mexico ousted in the Mexican War. There are several very excellant fictional works describing the trauma that resulted from the war to both anglo and hispanic cirizens at the time.

The old famalies have intermingled for generations producing a complex geneological mix that carries over to properties. There is a considerable difference between the nuevo wetbacks and the original property owners who trace Mexican/Texican ancestry back for generations.

My take would be more along the lines of that as a nation we must take the collective interest of the nation as a whole into account when it comes to security and the enforcement of our immigration and benefit entitlement laws than your selfish and narrow self-interest in this serious matter. And if you all can't understand that then you should make some other plans as the nation can not afford to listen to your selfish concerns on such matters of national security and economic welfare of our nation.

My family's safety and security far outweigh your narrow concerns on this national security issue. Perhaps you can move your operations a few hundred feet south of the border so as you won't miss out on the bounties of trading with the illegal aliens as you are more concerned with now. This nation does not owe you any consideration in this matter.
