Find a nice Brazillian woman. They are angels when they are sweethearts, and make great big noises when mad. My old German mom is just fine with her. They’re very strict.
Actually, I have had very few problems with the police - except for the racial problems.
I have several friends who are cops and have nothing but respect for 99% of all police officers.
I have also been treated rudely by black sales clerks, restaurant staff and others. (If you are white - don't ever go through a fast food drive thru in Detroit - unless you like a big gob of spit as a hamburger condiment. I've witnessed it being done.)
I look at it 2 ways - on one hand it makes me appreciate what black folk had to go through 30 or 40 years ago. On the other hand it makes me think that many blacks are worse racists than whites used to be.
I've always believed that two wrongs don't make a right. Unfortunately, not everyone thinks that way. To some blacks its a simple "Now it's OUR turn". That leads to a never-ending vicious circle.
I've been taunted in New York City, had kids try to run me down with a car in Washington D.C. after Rodney King, been attacked in N.J. by a teenaged armed gang while I was with a group of white boys, had people get in my face over politics using race as the issue tens if not hundreds of times, had a knife pulled on me etc. . . .

No it means “national” POWER, not “local” power. Therefore, whites in majority black cities are still considered part of a shrinking national “majority” and have no “civil rights” protections.

How about a follow-up study to 'blacks' asking how much 'whites' would have to be paid to 'black?' Just a guess, but the money is probably going to be much higher.
However, most forms of racism demonstrated in the United States are probably the fault of 'whites' (which makes sense, since they are the majority group in the nation).
You can point to statistics showing the majority of 'hate crimes' are against 'whites,' but this doesn't reflect lesser racisms such as insults, discrimination, and otherwise treating 'non-whites,' and especially 'blacks,' in a way separate than they would treat fellow 'whites.'
Another example of the endless supply of worthless “studies” that academia spews forth on our dime.

There's more to life than that, and once again, going to type that: a lot of you don't seem to know what you're typing about. You've jumped from 'not all whites are racist' to 'all whites are non-racist.' And you only have your own experiences to draw on. You don't know what some 'non-whites' have gone through (only God does), so it is easy for you to state that there's practically no racism in existence in the United States any more--or at least on the part of the poor, oppressed 'whites' who are under threat of becoming extinct in the United States although they still make up over 70% of the population (also, maybe you should consider the restrictive 'policies' it takes to be white--how many 'blacks' have more 'white' blood in them, and yet are still deemed 'black' by society?).
The freepers who would have the most credible 'right' to post valid opinions on this topic would be those freepers of African descent.
Other freepers could air their opinions, but they wouldn't hold nearly as much weight.
Clemenza, is this the case-- that 'white' people "are often insulted as they walk down the street by 'minorities'."
