No, Paul talks more about the Constitution, but the way he chooses his battles is far from principled.. he chooses the fight against our national security by arguing the Constitutionality of the word force vs. war, but he has no problem in 'playing the game' when it comes to sending pork back to his district to preserve wetlands or build a cable car in Galveston.
Paul is conservative, and probably a great person, but he isn't the second coming of Hamilton that people think he is..
Well I have mixed views on his Iraq policy as I initially supporting going into Iraq. But over time I do wonder if his “no” vote made the most sense.
You tell me any other candidate that is running that truly believes in a drastically smaller government and less intrusion on personal freedoms and I will seriously consider supporting that person.
I lived in TN when Thompson was a senator and he seems like a decent guy but nothing to get excited about.
I would suggest that some of the votes for “pork” may be twisting a vote to mean something that it is not but I have not read the legislation you are referring to.
