Well I have mixed views on his Iraq policy as I initially supporting going into Iraq. But over time I do wonder if his “no” vote made the most sense.

You tell me any other candidate that is running that truly believes in a drastically smaller government and less intrusion on personal freedoms and I will seriously consider supporting that person.

I lived in TN when Thompson was a senator and he seems like a decent guy but nothing to get excited about.

I would suggest that some of the votes for “pork” may be twisting a vote to mean something that it is not but I have not read the legislation you are referring to.

Again, not saying this is all bad, if he wasn't proclaimed to be such a purist, just pointing out that other than the talk, he isn't that far from Chuck Hagel.

As for Iraq, that could be a whole other thread, I just choose to listen to the military in charge and not the press.. unless you can show where we had a time machine and knew exactly what would happen, it is hard to judge people who had a pile of facts and had to make a choice.. How do we know how the world would look if we didn't act?
