Leaders are instructing Democratic lawmakers to blitz their states with anti-Bush messages as the Senate gears up for an all-night debate on Iraq withdrawal, according to an internal memo provided to The Politico by a Democratic official.

“We need every Senator’s help throughout the next two days to amplify our message and highlight Republican obstructionism,” says the memo from the Senate Democratic Communications Center, part of the office of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.). “This is a caucus-wide effort and your help is needed.”

A companion memo for Senate Republicans accuses Democrats of pulling a “stunt” – a word you can count on hearing as a mantra from the GOP. Watch to see if White House Press Secretary Tony Snow uses it.

After the Senate session starts this morning, it is not scheduled to adjourn until Wednesday night. CNN is already showing the cots for the round-the clock debate. The Politico’s John Bresnahan and Daniel W. Reilly have the background here.

Harry Reid's stunt is going to back fire....the American People as he, Durbin, Levin, Clinton, Pelosi, etc, are so want to call forth, haven't a clue as to what the REAL AMERICAN PEOPLE want......they want To WIN the war in Iraq and they want to win the WOT. Reid, Durbin, Pelosi, Levin, Clinton, Obama want to END the Iraq war regardless of what such consequences would bring to that part of the world let alone unleashing the al Qaeda to do their work world wide along with all militant Islamists.

General Petraeus has a winning situation going and that is just what Reid and gang cannot stand. When did Harry Reid become such a knowing field commander that he can’t wait for September……(hat tip) we must be winning…………the little man is dieing and this time consuming, costly, and ridiculous stunt is going to blow up in his mean little face. Call your Senators office now, fire Reid and get on with General Patreaus’s winning plan it seems to be working.
