Sometimes the reason is they are just naturally obnoxious.

But granted, dogs left outside are the 1s most likely to cause a disturbance (unless you’re the next neighbor in the apartment complex - which is REALLY annoying).

Some throw them outside because they can’t control the dog. Others because it’s just the way they do things.

I don’t mind people being fined for this. Not dogs that sometimes bark (they should!), but the “incessant” type.

grab the leash and train the dog. Where this is nothing there tell it NO BARK.

You have to train the “4 legged, flea bitten hound.”

I have neighbors with 2 barking dogs. I’ve gotten so used to it that it no longer bothers me though - I hardly notice. They can be barking at my cat, five inches away on the other side of the fence, and she doesn’t even flinch - she just ignores them like they don’t exist. It’s hilarious.

>We have a Papillon Puppy that is the same way.

The Humane Society says give her a treat to distract her. Oh right, that’s going to work.....<

I’ve 5 of them, of varying ages. It’s amazing, they are quite capable of learning “Hush”, and “No”. Treat them as you would a child.

A water sprayer, or if you need to go up in corrective power, a flyswatter, works wonders as a behavior modifier.

What molly-coddling BS, always shoving a treat at a dog. It’s bribery, never teaches them anything except you’re a sucker, and makes them fat. And that is if they feel like eating.

I feel for you, our previous neighbor had Pomeranians like that. It would seem that these are good reasons to a dog.

In all honesty I cant blame the dog, if the owner would give it just a little attention it would not be this way. It has not had any training what so ever.

In our town, some number of calls to the police about a barking dog (I’m not sure how many) will cause the owner to be required to have the dog’s vocal chords clipped. A de-barked dog just sounds like a hoarse whisper afterward.

Contrary to what some here may think, I believe there is always a reason for this behavior...it’s usually the owners fault.

We signed up for what was suppose to be the best Small Dog class in the area. The Humane Society’s class.

First, they put her, at five months, into a Jr. High curriculum. Then the whole treat thing started. She had the runs for two day after.

150.00 later, and we are not going back.

Shoot them, and then find a new home for the dog.
Absolutely the best response on this topic.

He HAD a fence and still let him run wild at night?????

He would keep the dog behind the fence during the day and let it roam around the house at night. One time it took exception to me taking out the trash. I got my pump bb-gun, pumped it about 7 times and shot him in the chest. He went home unhappy. After complaining to my neighbor about it, he puts it behind the fence 27/7. Then the barking started. I didn't want to complain again, so I bought the Dog Silencer Pro. Good thing it comes with an AC adapter, because during the first week, the dog wore out 3, 9 volt batteries on it. Now I keep it plugged in all the time. It also has a remote control.

You’ve had Paps?

Do I spray her or by her?
Do I smack a table with the flyswatter or her? (I’m not really sure I could hit her like that)

Too stupid to own a dog and gets one anyway.

Music to my ears. Neighbor has somewhere between 5 and too damn many dogs, at any one time.

We have a fence that borders our properties. I have fantasies of tossing a hand grenade over it and yelling "Fetch".
