restornu, the point is that Mitt paid for a haircut and makeup job and called it “communications consulting” rather than a haircut and makeup job, perhaps to dodge Edwards-like criticism.

Not as bad as taking money from the American Museum Council but even if the bowl aint as big the flavor is the same.

So he hired experts to advice him what's with you people

You are showing your ignorance this is what they call it in the field of Presentation "Communications Consulting" those who appear on TV and give speeches it is all part of the package.

It’s actually pretty clever on Mitt’s part. He knows full well that if he got a $300 haircut he’d be compared to Edwards, so he tried to cover the expense in another way. So it came out anyway, and the media is trying to make it look like Mitt was trying to hide a $300 haircut (which, I think, he was).

People in the public eye frequently spend big bucks on appearance- even Edwards does not deserve to be criticized (Clinton was too). I agree with you on that, anybody whose job it is to be in public does (or should do, Dennis Kucinich!) the same thing. I bet Jay Leno spends more than $300 per week on hair and makeup. When I give a talk at a university or present a paper at a conference I at least get a trim (if Kerry was going to be in the audience I’d get a manicure too).

Since it is so common, though, there is no reason to attempt to obfuscate the issues.
