It’s actually pretty clever on Mitt’s part. He knows full well that if he got a $300 haircut he’d be compared to Edwards, so he tried to cover the expense in another way. So it came out anyway, and the media is trying to make it look like Mitt was trying to hide a $300 haircut (which, I think, he was).

People in the public eye frequently spend big bucks on appearance- even Edwards does not deserve to be criticized (Clinton was too). I agree with you on that, anybody whose job it is to be in public does (or should do, Dennis Kucinich!) the same thing. I bet Jay Leno spends more than $300 per week on hair and makeup. When I give a talk at a university or present a paper at a conference I at least get a trim (if Kerry was going to be in the audience I’d get a manicure too).

Since it is so common, though, there is no reason to attempt to obfuscate the issues.

Maybe in your bookkeeping and I bet there is another name in corporate world for bookkeeping too!

Just like computer talk it does not use terms that average person is familiar with.

To me it is a whole new world of terminology
