China: Prototype Attack Helicopter Crashes During its Test Flight
Yonhap News
2007.07.16 09:58
ZW-10, a prototype attack helicopter Chinese military has been developing, crashed during its test flight, according to Jul. 16 report of Hong Kong's Apple Daily.
According to the paper, the helicopter crashed on a farm field at Jingdezhen, Jiangsu Province, on Jul. 11. It was badly damaged and five were seriously injured. Jiangnan Dushibao, a local paper (in the area,) also ran an article that a helicopter crash-landed at 11:30 pm, Jul. 11, due to (mechanical) malfunction, but the article was promptly deleted.
According to Hong Kong's Information Centre for Human Rights and Democracy, the helicopter was the newest attack helicopter China has been developing, crashed during its test flight, and its cause is under investigation at the moment.
It was one of the six prototype helicopters developed in 2003 by Changhe Co. at Jingdezhen. In its first year of development, one of them exploded in mid-air and crashed.
ZW-10 is armed with 57mm and 90mm multiple rocket launchers, air-to-ground weapons such as armor-attack missiles, and air-to-air missiles such as PL-5 and YT-90. It was said to be comparable to U.S.'s Apache attack helicopter.
In response to China's ZW-10, Taiwan expressed its intention to purchase 30 AH-64D Apache helicopters from U.S. last April, at a cost of 92.4 billion Taiwan dollars (approx $2.8 billion.)

This is a Z-10. I'm thinking a ZW-10 is going to esentially look like this with upgraded avionics.

Like I said, that pic is just a guess.

The actual ZW-10 may look a bit different.

They just have to be patient. If Hillary gets elected, she can call Johnnie Chung and see if we can’t give them the avionics to make it work in exchange for contributions to the DNC.
