Gov. Jennifer Granholm's job approval rating is the lowest it has ever been, a new poll shows.
In the survey of 600 likely voters conducted June 10 through Wednesday, 66 percent gave the Democratic governor a negative job rating. Her previous low mark was a 59 percent negative rating in November, when she won re-election for a second term.
The poll was conducted by EPIC-MRA of Lansing for The Detroit News and WXYZ-TV in Southfield. It had a sampling error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Waah, Michiganders got what they deserved.
It is truly possible that Jennifer Granholm could do for Hitlery or Obama in 2008 what Bob Taft did for the Republican ticket in 2006.
I actually don’t think it would be possible for Obama to win in Michigan under any circumstances, though this certainly helps.
Not everyone voted for the wench.
True, but enough voted to re-elect her, even though she had already put the state economy in the sh#tter.
Geesh....Democrats aren’t that smart.
I think voters everywhere are fed up and disgusted by all politicians from both sides of the aisle. These in-your-face arrogant elitists represent nothing but themselves and their quest for power. The only morons that don’t realize it are in office.
“I think voters everywhere are fed up and disgusted by all politicians from both sides of the aisle.”
You’re right about that, but no other Governor I’m aware of has negative ratings like that. If I were a Michigan Democrat, I would be panicking.
Quite possible. Of course, at the federal level, at least with respect to the House seats, we’ve maxed out up there (aside from perhaps Bart Stupak’s seat). It would be nice if the fallout effected Levin. It’s probably a safe assumption that we’ll get the Governorship in 2010, especially if Lt Gov Cherry is the Dem nominee, as he’ll be carrying all of Granholm’s baggage. It would be funny if Michigan ends up the state that puts Fred over the top next year. Perhaps that would be the silver lining in last year’s election. Too bad the good folks of Michigan still have to endure this moron for another 3 1/2 years and “Dangerously Incompetent” for 5 1/2. If the latter had to face reelection next year in that climate, she’d be toast.
I didn’t vote for her. Old Ginny is really funny! She got a new business tax for all of us business owners and she say now we have this new tax it’s going to attract more businesses to Michigan. What the lady smok’n?
I concur. I also think people are burned out on the 24/7 bombardment with it too.
Except that Granholm won't be on the ballot in 2008. She just won re-election and won't be on the ballot in 2010 because of term limits.
Big deal. Lowest ratings, bah! It means absolutely nothing. They just reelected her little more than eight months ago. Michiganders knew exactly what they were getting and they voted for her. I’d bet a million dollars that they’d vote for her again tomorrow too.
Today’s MSM outshine anything the Nazi propaganda machine ever cranked out! Now, that’s something to be proud of.
True, but enough voted to re-elect her, even though she had already put the state economy in the sh#tter.
An article on FR mentioned she wanted to give a free Ipod to every student in Michigan. That has to count for something! /S
We may lose OH, but gain MI in 2008.
You got it. I’m from Michigan and did not vote for the canadian. She has run this state into the ground with her ignorance. Now she wants to free 3000 felons to cut the cost of the state prison system. She stands for everything the liberals could hope for.
“She stands for everything the liberals could hope for.”
What conservatives should hope for is that it will blow up in liberals faces in 2008.
