(Elizabeth) Edwards Promises To Ban Laws Against Gays

(AP) SAN FRANCISCO -- Elizabeth Edwards told a prominent gay rights group Saturday night that her husband—presidential candidate John Edwards—would help repeal more than a thousand laws that discriminate against same-sex couples.

As she campaigns for her husband in California, Elizabeth Edwards has staked out an independent position on gay rights by announcing her support for gay marriage.

John Edwards said her position surprised even him. The former North Carolina Senator opposes gay marriage but supports civil unions.

Elizabeth Edwards also called for tougher federal hate crimes legislation, and cited the story of 26-year-old Satendar Singh—who died recently after being beaten to death by men at Sacramento’s Lake Natomas who thought he was gay.

Kiss of death, IMO.

There are about 8-10%
Gays” in this country. The rest of us aren’t in favor of giving extra perks to them. Alot of us consider their lifestyle an abomination.

Beyond that, what is she hiding?
Who needs to come out of the closet in her family??????

For someone dying of cancer, she seems pretty ambitious.

not even close to 8% to 10%, the average homosexual does earn above average income though, in the 100,000 dollar range or so.

Keep talking Libs, just keep talking.

She said the same thing to another gay group a few weeks ago.

The Edwards’ sleazy tactic is for her to say all the radical things, while Silky Pony stays in the background and plays centrist. Because no one is going to dare criticize a woman with cancer!

No mention about Bob Schrum’s book (Schrum being a dem operative, IIRC) wherein Edwards says he is “not comfortable” with gays. Hey, if that is his honest position, that is fine. But sending your wife to do this coalition repair errand is not sending the strongest message. Don’t make me post the “Edwards is Feeling Pretty” youtube segment. THAT makes ME uncomfortable.

Here is the source of the Schrum quote of Edwards, in case anyone doesn’t believe me:

Is she including ordinences against sex in public places like city parks and restrooms? The Gay & Lesbian Task Force has come out for repealing them saying that the unfairly “target” homosexuals who are otherwise upstanding members of the community.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

Don’t we already have tough federal laws regarding murder?
How much tougher does she want to get, death penalty for murder in every state?

8-10 percent? I think the best data on that is around 3-4 percent. I will get you the link, but that 10% is gay agitprop, no offense intended, ridesthemiles.
