Stores Shut In Security Scare

At least 11 Tesco supermarkets across the UK have been closed by police in a security scare.
There are reports at least some of the stores were shut after receiving bomb threats.

Just curious, but in the past, has any terrorist group ever given warning before they attacked? I can't remember any incidents, but I'm wondering if this had ever been the MO of any terrorist group?
