DUBAI, July 11, 2007 (AFP) - The leader of an Al-Qaeda linked group in Algeria condemned efforts to improve relations between the north African state and its former French colonial rulers.

The head of the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), Abu Musab Abdul Wadud, dismissed in an Internet statement posted on Tuesday recent efforts to sign a friendship treaty between the two states.

"There still remains between France and Muslims a wall of skulls and body parts and a sea of tears and blood," Wadud said in the statement posted on a website often used by Islamic militants, adding that true Islam forbids "frienship with infidels."

The message was posted on the same day French President Nicolas Sarkozy met Alegrian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika in Algiers to discuss forging closer ties.

The GSPC is an outlawed Islamic group that has recently rebranded itself as the North African branch of Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda network.

Is this a rejection of a new Sarkozy policy or a rejection of an older policy/entente started under Chirac?

The rejection should tell the French and Europe what they are up against, if they care to listen and understand.

Sometime in 1960 I came back from a dark and cold shower at RAF Upper Heyford (in the UK) and sat on my bunk in the dim barracks where we were TDY with our SAC B-47’s.
A three stipe buddy, Rodrique Sessions of Metaire, La. was listening to the radio. There was some sort of big demonstration going on in Paris.Car horns were beeping a sort of code. Beep Beep Beep,...Beep Beep!!
Crowds could be heard as well. I understood very little French and had him translate. “Al-ge-rie,...Fran-cais!!!”
“Algeria is France.”
What the hell was That about? There was a bitter guerrilla war going on between the Algerians wanting colonial France out of Algeria on one hand and the Pied Noir (French settlers in Algeria) who wanted France to keep a presence to protect their personal efforts and economic investment.
names swirled around Ben Bella, murders, French military committing unspeakable outrages, Mau Mau like killings and ripostes by the underground FLN.Tanks in the streets of France and a Charles deGaulle who shat on everyone equally.
It was sort of interesting, exciting and adrenaline raising but we had heard that we might be sent to Saigon somewhere in SE Asia, and we opined that that might not be a bad assignment after all. It is now 2007 and the French and Algerians, are still fighting for something or other. You see, that is what history is all about. The fight never stops and if there is a solution, another cause celeb or casus belli will certainly be found. By the way, the assignment to South East Asia really sucked.

No,Al Qaeda has it right.

Yet we are lucky to have so many useful Muslim Idiots who collaborate with us Infidels, and are friendly to us. (heretics)

Koran-

3.28: Let not the believers take the unbelievers for friends rather than believers; and whoever does this, he shall have nothing of (the guardianship of) Allah, but you should guard yourselves against them, guarding carefully; and Allah makes you cautious of (retribution from) Himself; and to Allah is the eventual coming.

Koran-"4.144": O you who believe! do not take the unbelievers for friends rather than the believers; do you desire that you should give to Allah a manifest proof against yourselves?

5.51": O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

60.1: O you who believe! do not take My enemy and your enemy for friends: would you offer them love while they deny what has come to you of the truth, driving out the Apostle and yourselves because you believe in Allah, your Lord? If you go forth struggling hard in My path and seeking My pleasure, would you manifest love to them? And I know what you conceal and what you manifest; and whoever of you does this, he indeed has gone astray from the straight path.
