Ever wonder where your beliefs were on the LIBERAL versus CONSERVATIVE scale. Here is an easy way to find out by taking this short 25 question quiz.
The following quiz was written by Victor Kamber and Bradley S. O'Leary and appeared in the October 28-30, 1994 issue of USA Weekend. Before you vote in the next election, take this quick, quiz to see where - and with whom - you really stand.

They've obviously improved the scoring alogorithm. When I took this test the last time leaving a single question blank turned me from Jack Kemp into Hillary Clinton
I took that test as well. I’m almost exactly in the middle of fascism/anarchism but way the hell to the right. The neo-liberal/libertarian characterization might explain why my favorite candidate is Ron Paul. Good test. Much better than the first one.
Another interesting test. I think my results are about right.
1) Constitution Party 83%
2) Libertarian Party 78%
3) Republican Party 57%
4) Reform Party 39%
5) Democratic Party 22%
6) Natural Law Party 17%
7) Green Party 17%
35. Dissatisfied with some of the options, though.
38 :( Goes to meditate on how to improve...
Pornography - I know the "right" answer, but the government has no business controlling speech.
Which do I trust more - the legislature or the executive - actually neither. While the legislature passes bad laws, almost every bad thing that has been done to an American has been done by the executive. The Legislature itself does nothing.
The FBI or the IRS. No libertarian is enthused by either organization.
Joint chiefs or UN? Well we all know about the UN, but the Joint chiefs are not just 6 4* officers, but a great big bureacracy, almost as bad as any other feral gubmint bureaucracy.
Doctors vs lawyers? In a world where most money for health care is socialized, I am not sure there is a big difference.
Union leaders or business execs - they are both shakedown artists.
Athletes or onwers - a pox on both their houses.
Prisons vs cities - I am a libertarian. We have a higher percentage of our population in prison than any country since Russia closed down the gulags. We have enough prisons already.
Family breakdown - I think it is a symptom rather than a cause.
Environmental problems - I am not an environmentalist, but I do enjoy being able to breath when I drive through New Jersey or Indiana, which you could not do in my childhood - breath in those places, I mean. The libertarian perspective would be that your right to polute ends at my nose, I think
The same for me. Why do you regard the winners as losers? What do you think they stand for? Moi, I think that the Constitution and personal freedom are everything. Of course maybe living in DC I realize how hopeless government is by any party, the looney left or the whacko religious right. For me the there is a third way - to get off this plane as defined by traditional republicans and democrats.
It's not what the stand for. It's their inability to get elected themselves, together with their ability to cause Democrats to be elected.
Take the 2000 Washington Senate race that incumbent Republican Slade Gorton lost to Real Networks spam queen Maria Cantwell by 2,229 votes. How do you suppose Libertarian Jeff Jared's 65,000 votes would have split between Cantwell and Gorton if he hadn't been in the race? Isn't it obvious Gorton would have been reelected easily without the Libertarian in the race?
Of course, if you live in a place like DC or Massachusetts, voting Republican isn't going to keep the Donk from winning. So, you can afford the luxury of a protest vote for the Libertarian. At least it shows in the vote tally.
38...where did I go wrong
I find that this list coming up in this order based on any combination of answers to be odd to say the least...
Politcal Compass seems very reasonable to me. Can you offer me anything in the way of a non-ad hominem attack on the creator to explain to me why it doesn’t help reflect someone’s political temperament?
I should have pinged you! Great FR name!
37! Surprised to see Bob Dole that high. Some of those “either, or” questions were tough as I found it hard to choose between the CIA and Peace Corps, and athletes and owners.
Of what, just out of curiosity?
Yea, that was my problem too. Too many time both answers did not pass the sniff test.
36. Guess that makes me an A- conservative on a 40 pt. scale...
Hi Honey
I am also a 35! I guess great minds think alike...
The Mrs.
I only scored a 38. Need to work on things a bit. I should get a least a 45...
Only 38
I’m more liberal than I thought I was.
