Unsure of the political party of this county councilman, it's not mentioned in either this article or in the Indianapolis Star. A few counties here have what are considered "non-partisan" county offices.

Ugh! TMI in that article this early in the morning.
To: Sir Hailstone
Hes been very active and knowledgeable of politics being a county auditor and clerk, understands the law and workings, Gerrish said about Fishers role on the council.Soon he will understand the workings of the sex offender registry.

Hate to tell you, Republicans do “that” too.

“Soon he will understand the workings of the sex offender registry.”
And the Indiana prison system. They don’t take too kindly to politicans OR child molestors there.

A few counties here have what are considered "non-partisan" county offices Yes, meaning they'll get caught with either a boy or a girl...

You’re new here so maybe you haven’t seen The Case of the Missing D. Generally the press is more forthcoming with the party affiliation of Republicans when they are arrested.

If the offender is a Republican it is usually in the headline of the article. When it is a Democrat it tends to go unmentioned.

Over the course of the past nine to 12 months, Fisher said he
spoke with the boy on the phone about six times.
This was their first time meeting in person.
Yeah, yeah...tell it to Chris Hansen (NBC "To Catch A Predator").
Every time one of these guys gets caught, it's ALWAYS
"the first time I've done this, HONEST!"

A Parke County councilman allegedly caught with a 15-year-old in an Indianapolis motel room Sunday has been charged with allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor and possession of a controlled substance. Hmmm. He was "allegedly caught" and has been charged with "allegations of sexual misconduct".
I'm not a journalism major but this paragraph sounds quite ridiculous.

Its journalistic grammar for referring to democrats caught in a crime. Hell sometimes even their names are only alleged.
