Fla. State Representative Accused Of Soliciting Sex In Men's Room

Police: Allen Offered To Perform Act For $20

TITUSVILLE, Fla. -- Florida state Rep. Robert "Bob" Allen, R-Merritt Island, was arrested Wednesday and charged with soliciting an undercover male officer for sex at a park in Central Florida, according to police.

Investigators said Allen was acting suspicious and went in and out of the men's restroom at Veteran's Memorial Park, located on East Broad Street.

Minutes later, authorities said, Allen solicited the male officer inside the restroom, offering to perform oral sex for $20.

Allen was then arrested.

Wednesday night, an attorney for Allen urged the public to remember the lawmaker's years of public service.

"The only comment we have to make is everyone is innocent until proven guilty," the attorney, who did not identify himself, said as he and Allen exited the Brevard County jail in Sharpes just before 10 p.m. Wednesday. "We would hope that everyone takes into consideration Mr. Allen's history of public service (and) that everyone is innocent until proven guilty."

Officers realized he was a public figure after the arrest, a news release said.

Allen, who is from Merritt Island, was booked into the Brevard County Jail Wednesday night.

He later posted $500 bond and was released from the jail.

Allen declined to make a comment in Sharpes but nodded slightly when asked by the assembled media if the incident was a mistake.

Allen, is a former Little League volunteer who also donated time to the Boys and Girls Club, serving on its board of directors.

The Merritt Island resident was born in 1958 and moved to Brevard County in 1964. He attended the University of Central Florida and Florida State University.

He has a wife and a child, according the official Web site of the Florida House of Representatives.

"True... but no one solicits a stranger for sex in a public bathroom! Leaving aside the issue of breaking your marriage vows, there's the issue of trusting your body to someone you don't know very well. Was he unsatisfied with the missus at home? There may or may not be an entrapment issue but his behavior was thoughtless, disgusting and reprehensible!"

Sounds like he needed 20? For. . . ?

I don’t think this was a hit against a political target. Male homosexuals frequently use public restrooms for anonymous sex. It’s disgusting and offensive. Unsuspecting people walk in on these activities and it’s horrifying. So cops are called and this is how they try to clean up the place. Just trying to take back the public restrooms for their intended purpose.

Sick freaks. I don’t understand. Does this sort of thing occur with straight people? The anonymous public sex stuff? If so, where? Meeting in bars and going to a hotel room doesn’t equate.

It is sick and demonstrates what homosexual activities really are sexual sickness.

“Police: Allen Offered To Perform Act For $20”

I’ve heard of politicians prostituting themselves, but this is ridiculous.

“As long as we are “down” at the moment, lets purge the party of these weirdos.”

No kidding. We need to tell the whole party “men, if you’re blowing some other guy in a bathroom, you’re not welcome here”.

“Male homosexuals frequently use public restrooms for anonymous sex”

This is beyond revolting. And yet the homos continue to insist that “it’s just an alternative lifestyle choice”. Obviously there are public health reasons we used to have sodomy laws. What will it take before we return to the days of common sense in dealing with these scum?

Say what you want about David Vitter, at least he never (as far as anyone knows) had sex with a man in a public park.

Do we really want to set the bar that low?

How could someone become so degenerate and his wife not suspect?

Maybe she wasn't into the relationship for the sexual aspect of it. He might have been bi just long enough to convince her that he could do it on their anniversary, and that was plenty for her. My first ex almost married a gay dental student who wanted a front marriage. I wish she had!

I believed McGreevey resigned after he was outed.

McGreevey resigned in the face of a corruption investigation.

Rep. Allen gave a news conference this evening and vigorously denies the whole incident. Now I’m thinking maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt. It seems highly unlikely that a man in a happy marriage and with kids and a legislative record as strong as him would risk it all for something like toilet sex. We should wait until the legal process finishes. The reason I say this is because I spoke to my brother-in-law who lives in the district and he insists that Allen is totally honorable and upstanding. There is a chance this whole thing is a frame-up by some militant homosexuals (who hate Allen for his family-values). Anyways, just my two cents worth.

Here is the press conference: http://www.local6.com/news/13672412/detail.html

Maybe it was a kind of minimum wage stance?

How come no one mentioned that this guy is one of McCain’s big campaigners? Maybe I missed it or maybe it doesn’t matter.
