"Frankly, Michael Moore is an example of why the health care system costs so much in this country. He clearly is one of the reasons that we have a very expensive system. "
Huckabee also singled out Moore for flying to Cuba in March for the documentary to obtain health care for a group of ailing Sept. 11 rescue workers.
"Let me ask you, have you ever met anybody when they were really sick say, 'Oh my gosh, I have a desperate disease. Get me to Havana, I've got to have the best health care in the world,'" Huckabee said."

Moore is too rich to worry about becoming a victim of the health care system he would foist on the rest of us.
Even Fidel had surgeons from outside Cuba when his butt was on the line.
They don't live longer than us. They have so few children the average life expectancy is higher, because they don't have as many people dying as infants.
Funny, why didn't the "good filmmaker" use France as an example ? Maybe because the French habit of eating doesn't give them morbid obesity such as Moore himself exhibits ?
and with such wit and humor.
great lines!
my point also. One thing about moore is that he is fat and pasty white. Get some sun and start walking!!!
I really think Moore overplayed his hand with this Havana stunt. Even people who are willing to buy his nonsense know that they would’t be better off in a Cuban hospital.
Huckabee has nailed it. Health care costs in this country would plummet if Americans would eat less and exercise, which would cause diabetes, stroke, heart disease, hypertension, and cancer rates to take nosedives. It’s a simple solution, so it probably will never happen.
“”No wonder the Republicans are in such trouble - their entire plan to fix the health care system in this country is to tell people to lose weight,” she said. “Maybe if Mike Huckabee and his Republican friends stopped sucking up to health-insurance campaign contributors they wouldn’t feel the need to blame Americans for this crisis. Just because he stopped eating Twinkies by the bushel doesn’t make that an outline for a national health care plan.”
Actually, that ain’t a bad starting point. O’Hara’s comment is the perfect example of the lack of personal responsibility in the left’s ideology.
Classic. Huckabee is exactly right.
Look at all the fat assed Cinnabon addicted McDonalds slatered gluttons waddling across America.
I love Micki Dees on a blue moon, but c’mon people, dont eat so damn much, and you would live longer and need fewer trips to the doctor.
Remind me: Why doesn’t FR “Like Mike”?
I like him -- I'm undecided as to who I'll vote for in the primaries but I've got nothing against Huckabee (at the moment).
I give him kudos for saying this, though. Huckabee's spot-on -- obesity causes a lot of problems that aren't restricted to heart disease and diabetes. Loosing weight not only improves your quality of life, it takes a bit of strain off your insurance company AND your wallet.
I'm qualified to comment on this -- I lost nearly 150 pounds fifteen years ago and have kept it off.
Living in Cuba could be a good plan for Michael Moore. Walking 40+ miles for an aspirin and lack of food would help him loose weight in a hurry.
