Well I'm here and I'm not a fundamentalist Christian and I guess neither are you, so I won't stereotype Freerepublic I believe it still has a wide membership. For example, I know when arguments start there is an atheist and or pro evolution element.

It's not fundamental Christianity, but ignorance that would cause posts saying Chertoff is a traitor and that we would be better off if all moslems in America vanished.

By their twisted logic we'd also be better off if all men disappeared because there are many more male criminals. Or maybe all clergy because a percentage of them (all faiths) are molestors. Maybe all drivers because some drive drunk. Just sloppy, easy, ugly thinking.

I'm a Deist. And I think that Bush and Chertoff and our political leaders have to stop the idiotic blather about Islam being a religion of peace and instead demand that American Muslims make a choice - either confront and renounce the call for violence against nonbelievers that is currently a cornerstone of Islamic doctrine, or leave this country. Because "death to infidels!" is completely incompatible with core American Constitutional values.

I'm not a fundamentalist Christian and I don't trust anyone whose religion is based on a book that wants me and my family converted or dead, somehow I consider them a threat.

Fundamentalist Christians aren't so bad--any more than human creatures are all bad. Nor is it a tenet of 'fundamentalist' Christianity to hate Muslims (or love Jews above all other non-Christians).

Lots of those here who consider all Muslim Americans as traitors could be atheists or non-Christians.
