LONDON, July 10, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - "Gay", "queer", and any other words or behaviours offensive to homosexuals must be stamped out among schoolchildren in the United Kingdom says the new Children's Minister.
Children's Minister Kevin Brennan told the homosexual advocacy group Stonewall that the government will require teachers to treat "homophobic abuse" just the same as "racist abuse." Brennan promised new regulations this autumn that would require teachers to act on name-calling such as "gay" and "queer" or be guilty of colluding in "homophobia," even when the words are being used as synonyms for "lame" or "bad."
"This is too often seen as harmless banter instead of the offensive insult that it really represents. To ignore this problem is to collude in it. The blind eye to casual name-calling, looking the other way because it is the easy option, is simply intolerable," Brennan said. "We need to create a culture where homophobic bullying is as unthinkable as racist bullying."
Brennan continued by saying schools "are the right place to start" to reshape British culture to oppose homophobia.
Brennan made the comments in reference to research from the Schools Health Education Unit (SHEU), which indicated that half of UK teachers do not respond to "homophobic" language when they hear it and that two thirds or 150,000 of "gay and lesbian" secondary school children are victims of homophobic bullying; according to the report the number rises to three quarters in religious schools.
SHEU's "findings" have given Brennan his pretext to initiate a broader program of immersing British schoolchildren in more pro-homosexual propaganda. According to the Times, Brennan stated the government will redevelop school curricula to "reflect our inclusive vision of society" in order to educate children about "the importance of equality and diversity in ways that are appropriate to their age."
It's about a fierce highwayman
My story I will tell.
"Oh it's Brennan on the moor
Bold gay undaunted stood Brennan on the moor."
(Irish ballad on William Brennan, highwayman).
It is getting worse. Yes, name calling is a nasty thing. Where does Minister Brennan think it will end?Children are children and they will name call. The preparation for the sometimes harsh realities of adult life are met in school.
The records of privileged children completely shielded from reality, often show it ill fits them for real life.
He should keep his nose out of things. Let commonsense teachers deal with these things.
It now appears that the Apocolypse is upon the once great nation of Britannia. Where the hell are Churchill,Wallace, and Keith Moon when you need them?
There is no such thing as “homophobia”
Phobias are irrational fears.
We do not berate, or punish phobics, we are sympathetic to their condition.
Distaste of an unsanitary sexual practice that leads to severe health problems is not an irrational fear.
“It now appears that the Apocolypse is upon the once great nation of Britannia. Where the hell are Churchill,Wallace, and Keith Moon when you need them?”
I have forgotten the band, but the lyric is:
“...All the wars we fought..but there is no England now...”
Sadly true, it seems that Tony Blair’s closet Catholicism was the only thing keeping the UK from their own symphony of destruction
Agree completely.
Meanwhile these would-be brides have one great trouble: they can bear no children wherewith to keep the affection of their husbands; well has nature done in granting to their desires no power over their bodies. They die infertile; ...

Now if the Muslims started blowing up bathhouses, they might improve their recruitment. Europe is going to blow again. It's overdue.
“Rule One...NO POOFTERS!”
As the old British proverb says.."It's an ill wind that blows nobody any good"
This is sort of funny since for someone to claim “homophobic abuse” they would then have to admit that they are “gay” -or I suppose the “abuse” will be subjective & transferred to people who are simply attacked with “homophobic” comments.
and you base this on what kind of knowledge? Thats a class distinction, something that you in the US are supposed to be very aware about.
Unless you have first hand knowledge of your comment.......
“Sadly true, it seems that Tony Blairs closet Catholicism was the only thing keeping the UK from their own symphony of destruction”
Is that the same Tony Blair who listed the establishment of the Civil Partnerships Act allowing homosexual marriage services and the increased rights for gays since he came to power as some of his most cherished achievements, or a different one?
