I am seeing a trend across the Nation in the last 10 years or so of increased Prosecutorial tyranny. I don’t know why this is happening. Probably many reasons - need to be “Tough on Crime” — criminal justice/injustice is a growth industry. Justify all the lawyers churning out from the law schools. Whatever. I have sat in on trials that I couldn’t believe were worthy of anyone’s time...all to give the new prosecutors some courtroom experience. Ramos & Compean may not be angels, but they don’t deserve what happened to them. You still haven’t said anything to the contrary.

I don’t think they should be treated as heroes. They committed a crime, lied and tried to cover it up.

Had they been honest about the shooting, I would say probation, or loss of job, at the max.

They were given a chance to plea down and refused.
