"I watched the Republican presidential debates with neighbors, and two of the five people in the room said, Who is that guy? I really like him,'" said Republican media consultant Tom Edmonds. "My gut tells me he's a sleeper and will indeed have an impact on the Republican race."

Ron Paul is like your favorite indie band that few people have heard or appreciate, in a world full of bland commercial music.
If Republicans want win elections, they should consider candidates that urge further intervention a political liability.

The problem is the buzz is coming from the left. Check out the latest DUmmie FUnnies edition, they want Ron Paul, along with Gore to run a shadow government..

What does Ron Paul have to do with Republicans?
He is the ultimate Republican in Name Only in that he abandoned his principles as a Libertarian so he could get elected to the Congress.

He’s not even registering in the latest polls. He’s an internet fad that will fade soon. He does have a pretty good bankroll though, for a longshot candidate.

drug legalization Paul would leave the issue to the states. If your community doesn't like drugs, you're not like to see much change.
Taking power away from the federal leviathan and returning it to the states and the people is conservative.

The DUmmies know little about Paul aside from his anti-interventionist views. (Most of the questions directed at him in the debates were about Iraq). If they knew of his position on taxes, the welfare state, and the role of gov’t in general they’d collectively faint.

Drug legalizationI'm for it. (And no, I've never used illegal drugs nor abused prescription or legal drugs.)

Saw my first hand-lettered (badly) “Ron Paul for President, 2008” sign here in my little corner of the world, S. E. Washington State as I was driving home last night. It took me a little by surprise.

Nonsense. If you want to look at it, he is probably the closest thing to Goldwater that has ever emerged.

Polls for candidates at this point aren’t very meaningful.
Clinton was at 1 or 2% at this point in the campaign cycle.
I’d rather vote for the best conservative, Ron Paul.

Must every Republican think the same?
That doesn’t pay much respect to individual intelligence or intellectual rigour.
If everyone marches in lock-step without thinking, the party will become irrelevant at some point.

Paul is a very dangerous man. He actually believes in the Constitution; furthermore he is working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption.
Oops, sounds too much like those far right wingers on Free Republic ....never mind.
