Ronald Reagan was once a democrat but he changed, didn’t he? We would have missed out on a great President if we had held his past against him.

CFR is probably the most well organized, well funded and most influential organization of movers and shakers in the free world, certainly in America... Can you tell me how it benefits conservatives to have no conservative inlfuence inside of CFR?

CFR is globalist, not conservative. I want NOTHING to do with their agenda or goals. It's antithetical to a sovereign, conservative, America.

“And Reagan did surroung himself with conservatives, not moderates.”

Yeah, that Moderate George Bush was such a great pick for VP wasn’t he?

Finally, some rational discussion of nearlydeadFred's questionable conservative credentials. (We knew we couldn't count on Sean Hannity to ask the tough questions.)

The author's bottom line isn't much different from the simple question I've asked about him from the beginning:
Aside from co-chairing McCain's presidential campaign and voting for McCain/Feingold, what is nearlydeadFred's most notable conservative achievement?

With the impending implosion of McCain's campaign, nearlydeadMcFred stands ready to fill his shoes and gullible freepers have bought him hook, line and sinker.

This is an interesting article (hit piece on Thompson). It picks out all that is unappealing and hyperventilates trying to whip up a fire by merely heavy breathing and hair splitting. Thompson has a 86.1 percent lifetime (1995-2002) Senate vote rating compiled by the American Conservative Union (ACU). He isn’t the highest rated. Now I suppose that is too liberal for some given that in 2006 only 34 Senators scored 80% conservative or better, all Republicans. What I’d like to know is who exactly does the author desire we vote for? Ron Paul? If he wasn’t an isolationist who seems to have bought into the anti-American clap trap I’d consider it but sometimes when a candidate has ‘fruit’ written all over them one knows that fruit aint spinach.

Many of us have tried to take that road, but people like familyop persist in their shady tactics, spreading misinformation as fact and attempting to mislead people.

I won’t use those same shady tactics, but I’ll gladly point out the weaknesses of their guy. They’re still the ones playing with a stacked deck, not me.

Thanks for the picture credit. The book is still available for purchase it just costs more because it's out of print.

I found a copy online somewhere for $35.50 shipping included. I'm just waiting for them to send an email.

What you posted is pure BS!

For starters, Ronald Reagan was a Democrat for 30 years and a Republican the remainder of his life, 42 years. Reagan was the most conservative President America has had since Calvin Coolidge. He wasn't only a Cold Warrior, he was a warrior in the battle against liberalism and socialism.

>>>>>I’m not troll my friend. You’d be shocked to know who I am...

Heard that before. Frankly, I don't care who you are. You don't know jack squat about Reagan or conservatism.

You missed the question...

No matter what you think CFR is, or what you think it’s agenda might be, it is VERY powerful, has been for a VERY long time and will be for the foreseeable future.

So, once again, how does it serve conservative interests to have no conservative influence inside of CFR?

If CFR is going to influence US policy, and it is, then why do you want no conservative influence inside of CFR?

Just because you’re scared of the dark? So you want to run and hide from the boogie man? As if you can?

Nobody in political power is beyond the reach of CFR. If you understand this, then one of two things must happen. CFR must be influenced by conservative values, or CFR must be shut down.

Let's agree that it's a socialist global shadow government. Which remedy do you have a plan for?

“AGAINST impeachment proceedings against President Clinton”

There was a reason for that. He didn't want Algore as president because with the incumbency, he would have been reelected in 2000.

Oh, sure, send them all over to the CFR where they have secret meetings and they are NOT ALLOWED to discuss what they’ve discussed.

That’s accountability from candidates for ya. Cuz, we all know, elitists ALWAYS are thinking of the common man, especially behind closed doors.

Give me a break. You want someone who enjoys secretive meetings behind closed doors with an organization known to be in favor of erasing America’s sovereignty? You’re a fool.

There’s a old saying: A man is known by the company he keeps.

Yeah, a couple hundred more if we want more funding for hydroponic tomato research and teapot museums....

...meh, my heart’s not really in this. I don’t like to bash Duncan Hunter. I just do it to tweak the jerks that go around spreading lies and halftruths about Fred Thompson. They’ve done it so much and for so long that a little taste of their own medicine is required once in a while.

I do wish we did have 434 other congressmen like Duncan Hunter (if he would honestly cut the spending problem down), but his campaign for president has been sorely lacking, which is a shame.

But Tennessee moderates are more conservative than the national average. Heck, Tennessee democrats are more conservative than the DC RINO’s. Excluding Algore, of course. But he changed drastically once he was exposed to the Clintons.
