DFL candidate Al Franken announced today he had raised $1.9 million in the latest reporting period, more than Sen. Norm Coleman and Democratic rival Mike Ciresi.
Franken's take in the period, covering April to June, exceeded Coleman's $1.6 million and Ciresi's $750,000. Ciresi didn't begin raising money until May.
Despite the big period, Franken trailed Coleman in cash on hand, reporting just under $2 million compared to Coleman's $3.8 million. Ciresi ended the period with $625,000 in the bank.
Franken's campaign provided his latest numbers to the Associated Press today. The other candidates released their figures last week.

How much of Franken’s money came from non-profit charities that he coerced into giving him money?
Money really doesn’t mean that much. You can be 5 alarm idiot and still raise a lot of cash. Case in point, the hildabeest.
I think the media focus on money too often and in certain races its misplaced. Franken’s money is probably largely from beyond the state and will not necessarily translate in to votes. Then again, MN is crazy enough to elect this freak.
That’s more money than Err Amerika raised in their whole career, not counting what they stole from “non-profits”.
Is Al Franken in charge of the FReepathon this session?
“Then again, MN is crazy enough to elect this freak.”
Hey, the ice-heads are represented by a Muslim in the House, so why not a clown in the Senate?
....Or Soros related.
I’ll wager most of his dough is coming from HollyWeird.
Hey, if they're old enough to go to kindergarten for this country, they're old enough to get hosed by Al Franken.
DFL=Dimwit For Lease?
You’re close.
Dumb -——— Liberal.
I wonder what Franken’s campaign slogan is: “Let me do for Minnesota what I did for Air America!” perhaps?

Minnesotans were dumb enough to elect Jesse “The Body” are they stupid enough to elect this dimwit?
I’m really hoping we’ve learned out lesson...

I have my doubts about learning our lesson.
We have got to be one of the most politically schizophrenic states in the Union.
In an 10-year period back in the 90’s, we did the following...
1990 - Elected an extreme liberal (Paul Wellstone) to the US Senate
1990 - Elected a country-club Republican (Arne Carlson) as our Governor.
1994 - Elected an arch-conservative (Rod Grams)to the US Senate.
1998 - Elected a BS-talking former wrestler as our Governor.
2000 - Elected a heavily sedated trust fund liberal (Mark Dayton) to the US Senate.
In short, we’re all over the friggin’ map!
They voted for Jesse Ventura, didn’t they? :p
