Heh heh heh..............
Funny, when clinton took the same approach, there was outrage................
I don’t think it was funny at all when clinton abused his executive privilege to pardon a rich (no pun intended) felon who fled the United States; relatives with drug charges and my personal favorite, terrorists who REFUSED to express remorse for their actions or agree they would never again commit such actions.
If you feel clinton’s pardons bear any similarity to the replacement of U.S. Attorneys who refused to prosecute cases of significance (i.e.: weren’t doing their job), I am sincerely amazed by your cognitive process.
EODGUY
I was thinking the same thing. I wondered how many posts it would take. Every President has done this. Well everybody from Nixon on for certain. I think even Peanut Jimmy pulled this as well after the disaster at Desert One.
“Funny, when clinton took the same approach, there was outrage”
Gee.. that’s cuz he was covering up obvious crime, duh.
As there will be when Hillary (if) does the same. Executive privelege in this context in general is a precedent to think through beyond the political catfight of the moment.
Of course. I guess that whole 'taking personal responsibility' Bush spouted for awhile only applies to us peons....But you see the difference is that Clinton was 'their' guy and Bush is 'our' guy....
