Yes, but all sunni groups who are not affiliated or inspired by Al-Qaeda are not following Al-Qaeda and since Al-Qaeda needs the support of all sunni groups including the tribal leaders in Anbar province, Al-Qaeda is not going to be able to establish a theocracy in Iraq unless they want a small benign role in a larger moderate Sunni republic

I noted that all sunni groups in Iraq are not allied with al Qaeda - and those that are, most are only in a temporary alliance based on achieving select common goals (the enemy of my enemy is my friend ... when our common enemy is defeated, then my friend becomes my eneny)

al Qaeda does not need “the support” of all sunni groups In Iraq- only dominance over them

al Qaeda does not need “the support” of the rest of the world to establish islam over all the earth- only dominance

You may think that’s unrealistic, but al Qaeda has never been quoted for being pessimistic about the LONG TERM outcome of their struggle
