The arrest of Middle Eastern medics in connection with the car bombings raises questions about the profile of terrorist suspects and who should be stopped and questioned. -

There is a powerful public perception that men of Asian, Middle Eastern or north African appearance, many of whom will be Muslims, are far more likely than white people to be stopped and questioned or searched by police under anti-terror legislation. -

Many people in ethnic minority communities believe this amounts to an unofficial use of racial "profiling", targeting Muslims. -

The suspicions have only been strengthened by some comments by leading police figures. -

The former Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Lord Stevens, declared that terrorism was a problem for the Muslim community and backed profiling. -

Ian Johnston, the head of British Transport Police, suggested that "we should not waste time searching old white ladies".

Gee- I profiled and ‘persecuted’ a Muslim tonite!
Refused to get in the line of a raghead cashier, when it was suggested by another cashier. I told her I’d rather stay where I was, and wait, even though there was no one in the other line.
Had I been forced to, I would have explained exactly WHY I refused to change lines.
Since when is ‘profiling’ as bad as/worse than bombing and killing? Let them start car bombs, etc, here and they will WISH for ‘profiling’ instead of what they will get!

Police are far too lenient on Muslims, if you ask me. EVERY Muslim boarding an airplane needs to be searched, and that’s just the start.

The loudest complainers know it. The issue is not the issue. Issues are weapons.

But on the bright side, the issue is helping catch the enemy's "lily-whites," it appears from the story.

I’m all for profiling and when it comes to public transportation, I say, “Search everyone.” My two word statement “search everyone” come from exhaustive exploration of countless news articles, reports, web sites, chat rooms, discussion forums, videos, etc. online.

...because we insist on remaining infidels and not converting to Islam like we are supposed to.

That's the only thing that would satisfy them, and then only temporarily, because there are always those who are "more Islamic" than others and who consider the "others" as apostates worthy of death. Just look at the whole Sunni-Shite fiasco.
