According to the article there is no statistically significant correlation between aspartame unless the child is averaging over 5 cans/day everyday or an adult male is taking over 20 cans/day every day. If you took that many cans of regular soda you’d get diabetes, or that much water and you’d disturb your electrolyte balance enough to pass out!

Exactly how much water do you have on mind (pending of course you have no health issues!) of consuming that you worry you might...disturb your 'lytes? :)

I dispute that.

When I was young and fit and very active and worked for UPS, I drank at least 2 gallons of water a day in the summer time. Probably more like 3 or 4 gallons. I may have had a shortage of sodium at times that led to increased sweating, but there was no risk of passing out. I used to sweat so much that my shoes squished when I walked and I left wet footprints everywhere I went.
